Hi. A bobbin question I'm using tex 40 bobbin thread for my tex 80 topstitch thread on a twin needle machine. For the life of me the bobbin thread keep cutting off and won't continously lockstitch with topstitch thread. I'll get a few stitches in before the topstitch thread stop looping and I have to open up the machine constantly to pull the bobbin thread through the slots, groves and spring over and over to get the top thread to catch bobbin thread. Any advice?

Wow, that takes and incredible amount of time to thread. I can color change my Consew 339 in 1/4 that time. Double tension disks seem redundant.

10-4 on that. But please keep in mind - we are doing a demo video for our customers who may or may not have any experience in using this machine...not going for a threading speed test here but a thorough and slow demo showing the main threading points and procedures. Double tensions disks may seem redundant, but very useful when fine tuning stitch quality with thicker thread sizes. In any case, thanks for your input.

@@sunnysewing Given how important tension is for getting a good stitch on both sides of both stitches, I wouldn't call it redundant whatsoever. Then there's also the possibility of using different threads in each needle, whether that's by choice or by limitation of what you have on hand at the time.

@@Pharesm good points, also gives individual adjustment to each needles thread, so as you quite rightly point out one seam could be in tougher or thicker thread than the other stitch line, also you may be using only the Left or Right side needle for offset stitching a line ie using the other needle as a lineup for the other.
