There are many triple feed sewing machines that are very good at what they do, I have included several in this video but of course there are others and I may or may not have listed your favorite. This Juki DNU-1541 strikes a balance of excellence, features, cost, parts and availability. Also of note is the high quality documentation available for this series of machines. I have provided a link for the manual below and also check out my Amazon lists of recommended items that I use.
Juki 1541 Engineer's Manual: bit.ly/Juki1541EngineersManual
The 1541 is still in production and can be purchased new:
Juki DNU-1541S : amzn.to/2I1exIc
Juki DNU-1541 : amzn.to/398RxTt
I buy all these industrial sewing machines myself and so anything you do to help support this channel is appreciated.

That seem to be a great machine and I have worked with a Juki industrial machine while working at a prison in Arkansas where they had an older Singer and a newer Juki industrial machines and the inmates used these machines to make and repair clothing and linen for the prison. I have a Jukki 1540 (I think. I bought mine new about ten years ago. Now you show a 1541 so I will have to double check next time i am in the shop). Mine has a reducer on it and while I really like it doing boat canvas, insulated denim coveralls etc. I find the arm really should be longer to better take advantage of the machines capabilities. My biggest gripe with it is the bobbin replacement. The Japanese must have really small fingers but my meathooks won't work in that little space! I have to do it from underneath as you show only I use a large 'L' shaped table so to get under it I have to get up and go around the twelve feet of table to insert the bobbin from the far side where I have a lighter outfeed table that I can move first. I have never been able to start a stitch with any of my machines without holding the threads down. Always learn something new. I didn't know you could fill the bobbins while working. Of course I have a couple of dozen that I fill at one time so I haven't needed that feature. Nice to know though. I did buy a full manual when I bought mine and it is pretty good not like the Chinglish we are now subjected to. Good video. Doug

@AlexanderDyer
@AlexanderDyer Жыл бұрын
Speed is a function of the motor. Clutch motors tend to be very fast, that is how 'industry' likes their sewing; time is money. By changing out to a servo motor you can completely change the characteristic and behavior of any given machine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/opLZnKmpipqfqs0

Hi Alexander, Congrats on the videos man! They are really informative, to the point and well made! Can you make a video explaining some of the basics behind two very similar sewing machines: an old proven one and a new model from the same brand... let's say Durkopp Adler 869 and the old Durkopp Adler 269 cylinder or what ever you feel it's similar in order to be compared in the same sense. To be honest I love the old ones, how they look in the workshop, but I'm willing to spend more on a really modern one if there really is a significant advantage on sewing quality and control of the layers etc. I'm not interested in electronic gadgets attached like needle positioning and other automatic sewing stuff, I love the pedal and flywheel. So, I guess my questions is: is there a breakthrough in sewing quality on the new ones or just the same stuff packed in a new cover and sold at a higher price? I hope it makes sense :)

Do you have any videos or thoughts on the this type of machine vs a cylinder arm machine? Hey, I have the 2750pro and a couple Juki LU562 flatbeds. Honestly, I hardly ever use the table attachment, I mostly use the cylinder arm when necessary and mostly use the flatbeds, I find them easier to manage the material during sewing. Hope this helps! Cheers!

Thank you so much for such a fantastic video! I have been sewing for decades but after trying to sew a window in a sailboat bimini (consisting of marine sunbrella and plastipane) using my Husqvarna Viking, I realized I needed a heavy duty machine. I've used a Sailrite LSZ-1 machine that was able to handle heavy duty sewing thru many thick layers for sails, marine canvas, many layers including leather but it's always been a bit temperamental and cannot handle lifetime thread when sewing a zigzag. However, living on a sailboat means that having a portable machine is a must because I cannot have a permanent sewing location. Is there a portable version of the Juki? Or is there a different portable machine that would meet my needs?

I have an old industrial juki LH515 which wasn’t stitching well. My husband and I spent hours threading and rethreading the machine and changing the tension but it still wouldn’t work well. As you would know, this is a twin needle machine so there are two bobbin cases. Well we cleaned one of them but forgot about the other. After cleaning the second bobbin case, the machine is now stitching beautifully. I am not selling it. My question is, how often do we have to change the oil? I have three sewing machines so I don’t use the juki often.

I've worked in a few clothing factories earlier in my time so I know about how well Juki sews and I can't forget that knee lift; ya had to be pretty fast at using it if ya expected to make production quota everyday or risk losing your job!

Hi Alexander. Thanks for sharing your video. I live in the UK and I'm going to a Juki dealer next week to test drive some machines. I would like a machine specifically for sewing bags, upholstery and outdoor cushion fabrics that I might use piping on. Having looked at your video I think the machine is very quiet. I didn't realise that the Juki machines came with tables. Which is a bonus, but I will have to reconfigure my hobby room (not a bad thing). Thanks again.

True workhorse. Had mine for a few years; I personally think it's the best Upholstery grade Walking foot on the market. Although if I could do it all again I'd probably go for the 1508. My 1541 had the knob to adjust the Foot height (as seen on the 1541-7's) as well as the actual tension assembly from the 1508; but not all of the 1541's have that. It appears only the later model ones have both of these. The earlier 1541s have Tension assemblies that feature only one pretensioner which locks the user in at #69-#138 thread. I've gone as high as #277 on mine comfortably with a Sz24-25 needle. 1508 has the U-Bobbin also, which is noticeably bigger in person.

Hi! Thank you very much for your videos... I also own 1541 juki, it's excellent, but I found that it is much difficult to sew on it little curved things from thin car-upholstery leather, because of the walking feeding and large outer presser-foot which tries to flatten the material. Can you help me - which type of industrial machine should I try? I wanted to buy one post-bed roller and dog-feed machine, but someone told me it's not suitable for thin leather with "skived" edges - thread will pull it up and down... Well, maybe I should find 2-feeding machine like 1181 or another, with inner foot but replace outer foot with roller or small foot, I don't know. I hope my english is not too bad )) Thank you!

Hey Alexander, I'm looking between the new 1541 and seiko version of the consew 206rb-5. You've sewn on both, so what are your thoughts? I'm mostly doing wallets, leather bags, mix in some waxed canvas as well. Thanks

Love your videos. Do triple feed walking foot sewing machines come in a zig-zag version?

Thank you. I would love to have a Juki or equivalent even if it's older. I'm a home sewer but I don't like the new home sewing machines with all of the computer technology in it that are designed to have a short life.

I have one and I suggest you hold the thread to start, I love this machine but you have to watch to complete cycle of the needle wen you reverse to avoid problems. thanks for the video, that's a great machine!

I have an old pffaf 1242. Triple feed, with updated servo motor. I sew boat canvas, eisenglass, etc.. it’s a damn tank and is great.. pocket it up with table, new servo motor, freshly services for $500.00. Paid for itself on the first project.
