@DutchDread9 сағат бұрын
I think that at some point you need to gain sooooo much weight for relatively small power increases that it just becomes not worth it for the loss of mobility. Hooper can get away with having less muscle mass because he's just so athletic, every lift is done with peak efficiency. Like, when Thor overhead presses, he essentially clean presses everything, that dude could do so much more I feel like if he could do a decent split jerk.
@DutchDread9 сағат бұрын
Having seen the entire video, I am more amazing at how close he got to the fit dude on the bike.....
@Jellybelly0089 сағат бұрын
@@DutchDread To a certain degree this is very true. It's due to the human body being very inefficient for strength comparative to the animal kingdom with our muscle density. Our levers are generally horrible outside of our calves. There's gonna be variations with different people (lifestyle and diet, activity, nutrition with how they were raised) and genetics, inserts and whatnot.
@acidsmokemachine58739 сағат бұрын
You should watch the worlds strongest man, he beats him or is right by his score in most events. It's actually less impressive if you consider the gap in size. Thor should be much stronger than he is.

The biking at the end shows how world class mitch's endurance and VO2 Max is. The cross fitter should've been able to have taken him easily just because of sheer weight difference.
@billabong536610 сағат бұрын
but on a stationary bike does the weight even matter? its not like you're moving the weight anywhere, you're just spinning a wheel so bigger muscles are only an advantage no?
@m4yd0g10 сағат бұрын
VO2 max is scaled by body weight. Mitch's VO2 max is much less than Justin's. They did the same amount of work in the same time / used a similar amount of oxygen but Justin is soo much less massive. Out on a real bike, Justin would leave Mitch far behind. But yes, Mitch has a good cardio and work capacity for a 300lb+ man.
