The reason why Loki is popular than Thor because Loki, you can related to him. Not everyone is a golden boy like Thor. Most of us are outshined by golden boys/gals that even thought we are talented in our own different way. Everyone is broken, brittle, shadowed, unloved, alone, and felt we dont belong and mostly, some point. We were treated unfair and no one listens to us and questions our good deed actions. Loki is mostly us. Lets be honest on that one

Yes, TH seems like a ridiculosly perfect man-package, but he doesn't float my boat at all, except when he channels this glorious other entity named Loki. I wonder sometimes whether he somehow hipnotized us lol...... or maybe his hair is magic. But to me they are entirely separate beings.
