I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. My only complaint is that there should have been more screen time with Gorr. We should have had at least 1 or 2 more scenes of Gorr hunting and killings gods. The film didn't convey how much of a threat Gorr could be. The film needed those extra scenes with the villain.

He missed 2 parallels. First, when Thor was in the vault of eternity, him getting saved by a thrown mjolnir from Jane was just like in endgame when cap threw mjolnir to save him (both times almost getting stabbed thru chest). Second, instead of raising storm breaker like Thor does to summon the bifrost, Axel places it on the ground like a staff, just like how heimdall placed the sword in the slot of the machine bifrost.

I think it's so sweet that Gorr's whole reasoning for becoming God Butcher is that a god failed to protect his daughter and therefore he thought Gods cannot be trusted to protect. At the end of the film be trusts a god (thor) to protect his daughter

Actually gor didn't trust the gods to do their duties but as he saw with his eyes that thor is different. As we shown at one point Gor reads the minds of Thor... He went to omnipotence city to rally the gods against gor but he failed but yet thor didn't want to leave the people (children gor abducted) who needed thor to save them. Thor stood his ground against all odds to save those children... That's what made Gor to change his view /opinion on Thor. Besides there's no other option for him 😂 😂 😂 thor is the only other person there is 🤣

At first I was a bit put off that the axe would have a personality, it seemed weird. Then I reminded myself of Dr Strange's cape, which never actually seemed that weird to me so I thought, fair enough, why not! I think the main issue I had was that it's 'personality' was just done for laughs, at least in this film.

perhaps if it were done well. in Ragnorok, it was funny and serves to stroke Loki's ego, but in this one it's trying to be an in-joke but comes across either going on too long or making fun of the predecessor (i think the former since ragnorok was also Taika's work).

I think that at 35:26 the tree pattern that is created when Thor empowers the Asgardian kids is supposed to be the Tree of Life from Norse (and many other) mythologies. Some symbolism that I appreciated was the markings on gorr’s and his daughters body. When we saw his world’s god, he also had the same sort of markings on his face. So when we see gorr later, his face and body is scarred only over his markings. Gorr purposefully cut and mutilated his own body, symbolizing his great anguish, as well as his hatred and rejection of all gods.

Doesn't happen often to me but somehow Christian Bale got a tear rolling down from my eyes by the end. That too in movie where humour was loaded right up until the time Axl called the Bifrost. Gorr literally carried the ending of this movie for me. Kinda bummed Gorr can't get any more screentime, but at least he got the ending he deserved. Hits home the fact that the only person who can beat Gorr is himself and the only *thing* that can beat Gorr is love.

What I liked the most about it is the subtle detail that goes unspoken. You can easily read that Quill just learned to accept Thor's goofy act. He knows Thor not just enjoy himself but also use the act to hild his hurt, but he also knows Thor delivers and he does care (hence the talk). You watch their interactions (direct and indirect), you can see Quill learned to read right past all of that. It is a particular type of just accepting how the other is, including their superficial kinks one might perosnally not enjoy, which I find very pleasant to see.

I agree but i feel having the dumpling god took away from the movie and kinda made the whole omnipotence city more into joke than the gathering place of gods in the mcu. I feel the numerous disney references are starting to take alot away from the mcu specifically. They really should have given the movie a more serious tone lightly undercut with some humour instead of humour lightly undercut with a bit of seriousness. I think they can keep making disney references aslong as they are on earth and it makes more sense since disney can exist on the earth but when u put it into the wider universe just for a gag it just feels like they taking liberties with the mcu which really undercuts the immersion that i was hoping for. Not to mention how they represented zues, they really should have tried to make him a more serious character but still incredibly dismissive of "lower" lifeforms. Although i have to say the orgy thing was kinda on point for zues as a character as we know him outside the mcu so kudos
