6.25.22. I feel for you! We traded a barely used 2019 Tiffin Wayfarer for a new 2020 Thor Omni BH36. We wanted a little more room and the bath and a half sealed the deal. We soon received a recall from Thor for a possibility of leaking over the cab, so we took it back to the dealer we purchased from, Lazy Days in Tampa, Fl. and left it there (A two hour drive from where we live). After it being there for two weeks for the recall we went to pick it up. Between hard rains we finally got our tow vehicle hooked up. We started to pull out of the parking lot and you would have thought we went under Niagara Falls with the top down. Cold rain water poured inside the unit right on my and my husbands back, filled the bunk over the cab soaked the carpet in the cab…..remember this was a brand new unit. Luckily I had left a couple towels in it 😡 Needless to say we turned it back around to the shop and I lowered the boom on the guy in charge. We unhooked out tow vehicle and drove home 2 hours without it. After weeks of correcting all the damage caused by the flood we went back and brought it home again (4 more hours). We took it out a few weeks later to N Ga in the rain 😳 not realizing the big slide was not sealing we had more water running inside 😩. I spent so much time on the phone with Thor and Lazy Days, not getting anywhere. We returned it to Lazy Days for slide repairs, still had problems, they finally sent a tech out to our place, he advised it needed a new slide motor, we never got it. It’s been such a let down, we’ve been afraid to try to take it out again. Using the automatic leveler cost us a cracked windshield, we have learned to use the manual leveler only! We finally found a local guy that hopefully he has corrected the slide problems, at our expense. We had to replace the house batteries already. Our extended warranty we purchased has been almost useless. Last week we had it parked outside the garage and discovered the ac units are not sufficient for this Fl heat. Gonna give it one more try in Sept 2022 to the northern states. I hope it comes through, if not it will be someone else’s problem. The F550 chassis is a great unit and was a big factor on our choice we’ve had no problem with it at all, only it needs to have power for passenger seat!! Rant over!! For now.

Its outrageous that an entire industry accepts the norm that a brand new RV which can cost as much as a house can have such bad Quality Control issues. The whole RV industry should be boycotted.

Thats the problem sadly, just like several car manufacturers. People keep buying them, so these giant companies don't care about the few angry ones. The RV industry seems to be most unregulated of many though. For a rolling house on wheels, there should be better QA, QC, oversight.

I was WARNED by my brother in law not to EVER buy a Thor RV. He owns a Newmar and is quite happy. You said it yourself. YOU DIDN'T DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Even so, I feel bad for you because you are caught between a rock and a hard place. I'm so sorry for you. But life will go on and somehow you will get through this. SHAME ON THOR. They are the worst in the business.

Definitely change my mind about purchasing a Thor , very nice looking floor plans but it seems to be crap , and the customer service wow looks like once you drive off the lot your on your own.

We purchased a THOR WINDSPORT & ours was in the shop more than we got to use it. Lots of cosmetic items, our steps & leveling jacks messed up.., the fridge had to be replaced after only 1 camping trip... I'M in Washington state,bought brand new also in 2017. It was only driven from factory to washington state before we took purchase from dealership which closed down 6 months after we got.

I have been researching rvs as I’m planning to start traveling in January. After this and other stories I am terrified and anxious about buying one. I’ve decided I don’t care to take that gamble. It’s just me so I’m just going to get a van and put what I need. I’ll reconsider when rv industry cares about quality

They will never going to get better. I am just like you the stories I heard have make me push my shopping days for an rv far away. One thing I will have my own rv inspector and will not take the dealers words that they will inspector the rv.

I used to work for Thor. I could give you horror stories of their production. If you want more info let me know. I was a welder on the A line but they sometimes forced us to do C line units for no extra pay.

I have so many examples of shoddy work on my Hurricane. It is really hard for me to comprehend how Thor can actually take my money for such garbage! You'd think if they did things right with production it might save them money in warranty work, but I could be wrong. I was a green buyer when we made our purchase. Now I know better but it's too late. I still owe $50,000.00 so I keep lots of tools and repair supplies with me always.

My Keystone Passport GT is a piece of junk. It is a 2021 and is a 2400 RB. Nothing but problems out of it and horrible management and Keystone could care less. This is based on my own personal opinion and experience. I also climbed the back ladder and it broke and they claim I told them it was cracked and then I did it. Not true ! It cracked because of me climbing it and no sticker on it telling the weight limit. I had a warped refrigerator door, warped cabinet door. Both sliding doors coming off the tract. Top of shower coming apart. Sharp edges on some of the wood. The bed was not the original bed. Someone switched it out and the whole bottom of it was ripped. The wood on the right side of the bed was all chewed up. Sawdust still coming out everywhere. Light covers come of everywhere in the camper after you have been on the road. The GE A/C is so loud that you can barely hear the TV. Lot more stuff I found. I find the Director Of Operations rude and unprofessional for Keystone RV. Please buy a different product. Keystone RV has 1.31 out of 5,o reviews on the Better business web site. That means a 1 star out of 5. Thor Industries, the company that owns Keystone RV has a Better Business F rating, the worse you can get.

I bought my piece of crap from Camping World in Bartow, Florida. We have owned it since August 2022 and we were able to do a trip with lots of patches. But it is going back to the shop. Like she said, it has spent more time at the shop than in our yard.

Sorry this happened to you, I’m on my second Thor RV, my first one purchased new from Camping world in Fayetteville NC. 2018 Freedom Elite 32fe, kept it for three summers and put 15,000 miles on it, it had several issues but must not have been as serious as yours, I scheduled the repairs in between my camping dates. The ford part of it was flawless. I have a large family so I needed or wanted a larger unit so I sold my class c and bought a 2018 Thor Venesian, I lost about $ 30,000 because I bought it new and sold after 3 summers. Before I bought the Venesian I watched many KZbin videos and came to the conclusion that if I’m going to buy a diesel pusher that I am going to have to always make repairs or plan to pay someone to make repairs and they will sometimes be costly. We Love RVing and have put 6000 miles on this one from July to December, it is a costly hobby and I hear that from other brands as well. I bought a used 200,000 dollar Thor because I couldn’t afford a Tiffin. I hope that you have been or will be compensated for your troubles

Most of the new rigs have problems, that’s why it’s recommended to buy 1-2 year old ones when all the problems are fixed

Ours have many issues from shady manufacturing to bad leveling, several error messages on the house display, bad propane system, furnace didn’t work, water heater has issues, and the cabinetry really sucks. A lot of the trim inside was poorly cut. It is a new 2022 Thor Hurricane

Well folks, looks like these days, it's best to steer clear of RV's, and stay at La Quinta or Hampton Inn by Hilton. Maybe Courtyard by Marriott, if you want to treat yourself. Now, back when I was finishing the 8th grade, my parents bought their first trailer, a brand new 20' Roadrunner gooseneck (by Entwistle). It was a middle class camper that cost just over $6K, less than a Ford LTD at the time. I don't remember it giving us a lot of problems. But then it wasn't really used a lot. Later after I had left home and got my life going, my parents bought a new Skamper 26' gooseneck, which a think got totaled in a hailstorm, so they replaced it with a similar make and model. It was nice, and had a coach stereo with tape player. They made several trips in it, especially after Dad retired from the FAA. They traded it for another Skamper, just a few years before Dad passed away. After their first vacation in the last RV, Dad told me "We're too old for this!" I'm sure there was the usual maintenance and small problems with all the campers. But I don't think Mom and Dad had the problems described by this nice couple, or the problems described by RV owners on the Liz Amazing channel. And Thor is well talked about there! Not in a good way! I don't think any of my parents' RV's exceeded $30K brand new, even the last one they purchased in the early 2000s. Six figures, even for a trailer, that's insane, especially with all the quality problems.

was this during the corona world wide supply chain shut down? I looked at a thor and they wanted to sell me a look it over plan before I purchased the rv. Brand new and they have to make Shure that things are all working correct. that wasnt a very good felling for me. So I declined.

years ago i saw an episode of 'how do they do it " and notwithstanding the fact that the show is complimentary of the company that allows them to film just watching the process and the engineering of the whole thing made me decide at that point that i would never buy an RV. There are umpteen less expensive ways to enjoy nature than living in cramped quarters. And to get there you have to drive hours or days in clogged highways.

I've had TWO Thor RV's...A "B" and a "B+". Yes, a lot of work is required, after purchase, to correct Quality Control problems. Thor "pushes" their RV's out the door as fast as they can build them. They just don't spend the time to quality control inspect each vehicle. I've been told, although I don't know if its true, they inspect only 1 out of 10 that they manufacture. They depend on their customers and their sales outlets to fix all the problems that the new vehicles bring with them from the factory. About the only saving grace for Thor is the lower price compared to some of its competitors. BUT...with that lower price...one has to be willing to troubleshoot and fix those problems theirselves....or have their RV "laid up" for several weeks waiting for the sales outlet to do it. On my latest purchase I had the following problems: 1. The Generator would not turn on. 2. The valve that controls my heater was defective and had to be replaced. 3. Several form, fit and function problems on my interior panelling. 4. The gasket liner around my refrigerator had to be reset. 5. My RV interior control panel had to be reset. 6. My passenger fold out table broke off from his wall mount. 7. My radio control panel display went blank (although after 3 years of operation). 8. My RV control panel also went blank (also after 3 years of operation). 9. My "pop top" on my roof opened up on its own on the expressway and so damaged the struts that hold it up while camping, I've not been able to use it since. Thor will not honor the warrantee! 10. On my previous Thor RV, a Ford B+, the DEF heater in the DEF tank went bad after 2 years and had to be replaced (A Ford Diesel problem). One also has to consider that RV's, in general, are not made to "live in" permanently. Constant use of RV appliances means their life-span is much less than appliances in one's home.

Just looked at a brand new 2023 Outlaw 38KB and it was absolutely dismal. It had so many pre delivery issues that we could see inside and out it was embarrassing. My wife and I told the salesman we were done looking at it because "the quality just wasn't there" and all he did was sigh in resignation.

Bottom Line: All motorhome manufacturers have issues. Owned several over the years have done extensive research on virtually all of them, from Thor, to Newmar, to Entegra Coach, Monaco, Leisure Travel Vans...you name it. They all have problems. Stories like this everywhere. However, I know of many owners of all of these coaches who are super satisfied, too. Go figure.

This is true - the majority of New motorhomes being built today lack quality control and operational checks prior to selling them which leaves the new buyers having to bring them back over and over again for the necessary repairs. . Another problem with warranty: often it takes months to get the RV in each time for repairs and months again sitting at the repair shops : this insures that in most cases your warranty will run out before all the repairs are completed.

He drive for Schneider, and they have fewer problems with the freightliner trucks. I get our mobile home from them. Thor lost my future business.

I bought a 2014 Thor Hurricane 32A, yes I know it is an entry level gas coach but Thor builds crap!! I am constantly repairing things throughout the rig. I will never buy a Thor product again! *The cabinet hinges pull out from the pressed wood anchors at their base. Our mirrored doors nearly fell off which would have sent glass shards everywhere. *The wallpaper is either wrinkled or peeling everywhere. (We are in So Cal so it's not a moisture issue.) The wallpaper is glued to plywood. Either not enough glue was used or the glue used was crap. Who applies wallpaper directly to porous plywood anyway? Just plain stupid! *The large slide-out hole was cut out of square and the slide stopped working. I had to spend thousands of dollars to have someone replace the whole guide system and motors they had to jury rig it so it would work properly. It had been in the shop multiple times under warranty for this repair. They simply did not want to acknowledge what the real issue was. I had to take it to a third party to get an honest diagnosis and repair, by this time it was out of warranty. *The exterior ladder comes loose all the time and constantly need to be re tightened. This also was looked at under warranty. I was told it was fixed but I was lied to and repairs were shoddy. *The PLASTIC kitchen and bathroom faucets broke which I replaced myself with higher quality ones. *The water pump was noisier than hell; I had to replace that with a more quieter unit. *The chassis A/C will not blow out of the dash vents, only works at the defroster vents. *The propane regulator failed and had to be replaced. *There is a short in the TV cable system somewhere; we are unable to get a picture without snow. *The spring loaded cabinet door supports come loose because they are screwed into cheap pressed wood, constantly needing repair. *Moldings at the top of the slide on the interior are dislodged when the slide is moved out as it is out of alignment. One end cracked and fell off nearly striking the head of our daughters guest. *The miss-aligned large slide-out damaged the linoleum floor from an upholstery staple that was used (not seated all the way) on the bottom of the dinette , indented and scratched the flooring. *Driver window rattles like crazy on the highway. *Hydraulic hose connections for the leveling system were loose which flooded the pump area and the ground with hydraulic fluid. *Front windshield curtain hangers were rusted damaging the cloth loops that hang the curtain. *The upholstery is beginning to crack and peel everywhere. *Lights in the dashboard were not working, fixed under warranty. *The main entry door latch was very hard to open if heated up by sun exposure. Wife could not open the door. *Backup light was mounted upside-down and filled with water from a wash or rain. *One of the front hood latches fell off on the highway somewhere. *Headlights are miss-aligned badly. *Chassis HVAC blower motor squeaks at any speed. *Some of the adjustable cabinet shelves cannot be adjusted because the shelf is not wide enough to meet the PLASTIC shelf supports, or the cabinet was made too wide. I don't know which it is? *Bathroom fan not installed correctly, made a bunch of noise, come to find out the frame was bent and had to be replaced. I'm sure I've left out some things. If I still didn't owe on the thing I might drive it off a cliff!

@@cpvsgvmnt2116 I would look elsewhere. Consider a class C. If you do find one you do want to purchase I would first hire an RV inspector to look at it first, whether it's a new or used RV/RUV. All I can say is do your research! Personally if I had to do it again I'd strongly consider Winnebago.

...I spoke with an RV repairman the other day and it isn't just Thor with major issues. He sees all brands regularly in his shop...the issues aren't brand-specific and spending more money doesn't necessarily mean a better quality vehicle. Overall advice: buy what you like and can afford and be prepared to DIY as much as you can.

well ..... old post i know , but hopefully what i say will help sombody just starting out. i been a full time RVer in a class A my whole life started when i was 19... 1987 well im 55 now in 2023 so sombody should have told u never buy new !! never buy past 2008 the reason... that D.E.F fluid If you forget to add that which most people do U will go into limp mode and have to be towed Who needs that . any diesel after 2009 will have that but hey man if u wanna buy brand new lol GO 4 IT. however! if u stay between 1990 to 2002 a gas engine is ok but always go with diesel from 1990 to 2008 those old CAT or cummins engines 6.7s with the allison trannies omg are bullet proof! !!!! i bought a used 2002 phaeton tiffin diesel pusher 38ft class A an ya dont have to go big just long as it within the right years! had it for almost 14yrs now 4 slides and to this day in 2023 every thing still works!!! the only thing i ever had to do to it was change the oil and buy new tires thats it!! u want an older coach cuz back then they where better built and quality was high the people back then cared about workmanship craftsmanship. and reliability! well people die... people change there kids take over the business and now your dealin with pure garbage today! i wish i had new u guys i never would have let u spend 200k on any thing! we paid 40k for our rig and shes a war machine!! never left us stranded ever! remember people the years are 1990 to 2008 if stay between those yrs you will be just fine trust me. And stay away from anything with a carburetor!!! or a v10 triton Just to much can go wrong over the road.

Welcome to the moho world.... If you can't fix it yourself, don't buy it....I've owned coachs since 1980, both used and new. They are all the same, they break down all the time. All the brands are the same.... cost makes no difference. Moho depreciation is crazy, no matter what the brand.

My Keystone Passport GT is a piece of junk. It is a 2021 and is a 2400 RB. Nothing but problems out of it and horrible management and Keystone could care less. This is based on my own personal opinion and experience. I also climbed the back ladder and it broke and they claim I told them it was cracked and then I did it. Not true ! It cracked because of me climbing it and no sticker on it telling the weight limit. I had a warped refrigerator door, warped cabinet door. Both sliding doors coming off the tract. Top of shower coming apart. Sharp edges on some of the wood. The bed was not the original bed. Someone switched it out and the whole bottom of it was ripped. The wood on the right side of the bed was all chewed up. Sawdust still coming out everywhere. Light covers come of everywhere in the camper after you have been on the road. The GE A/C is so loud that you can barely hear the TV. Lot more stuff I found. I find the Director Of Operations rude and unprofessional for Keystone RV. Please buy a different product. Keystone RV has 1.31 out of 5,o reviews on the Better business web site. That means a 1 star out of 5. Thor Industries, the company that owns Keystone RV has a Better Business F rating, the worse you can get.

Here we are 23/24 had what I thought was a pretty nice budget for a new RV- complete junk on the lot as far as class A’s 150k plus particle board pieces all over the floor, new units with water damage, flimsy walls falling apart. Hard pass. Do better people.

Pissed Consumer They did a terrible job installing a poptop on my van. It leaked, didn’t fit on the van correctly and the fit/finish was terrible. After having them fix things 3 separate times, I told them they needed to fix EVERYTHING so I didn’t have to come back again. In an odd twist, I got sexually harassed by their secretary and THEN she called me a f*ggot when I told her “I have a boyfriend”. She was old enough to be my mother, btw. When I complained about that, the owner says “Oh, well if we knew you were gay we wouldn’t have done your van at all. Please don’t come back here for service.” That was after 4 months of nothing but problems. I had a 5 year warranty that they would not honor. I got in the sportsmobile forums and sadly found out that they have done this to dozens of other customers when they complained too much. On a side note, my van was their “guinea pig“, as they had never actually cut the roof off of and installed a pop-top on a Ram ProMaster before my van. No wonder I had so many problems with it. I, like many others, had to sell it. I only owned it for seven months. It was a complete nightmare thanks to them. They are openly homophobic. And there was plenty of chatter on the forums about how they prefer not to do business with African-American people. I find that disgusting and deplorable. I never would’ve given them my business had I known… Sportsmobile West in Fresno, California. And yes, I have them on video lying, and then one of their service guys walking over to me and telling me the truth about some of the damage and repairs. They threatened to sue me if I posted the videos on KZbin/social media, LOL. A class action lawsuit was being started against them but the law firm dropped it because they weren’t worth enough money, and they are worth less and less every year. The guy who runs it now is the homophobic son of the original homophobic owner… And he never went to college. His lack of business sense shows, lol. And the father is a complete tool. He is so full of himself and has a really nasty attitude towards gay people, women, and people of color. If you look around here on KZbin you can find a video from a nice lesbian couple who insisted on getting their deposit back because the secretary made some nasty comment to them about being lesbians and being mixed race. Sorry, but that is super gross. That was probably one of the worst consumer issues I have ever had.

I have a 2017 Thor Vegas and its nothing but problems. (Bought it used) The craftsmanship is horrible, made from the cheapest plastic junk, the cabin bed stops/jams regularly. Buyer beware like the lady says.

Camping World & Thor Motor Coach of Harrisburg sell nothing but lemons to everybody!!! This is not my motor coach that's 27 ft long. C motorhome. Thor Motor Coach threats at me and I'm not even the owner. We had a professional look at it. He's calling it the world's largest lemon!!!!!

@PissedConsumerCom A long list of quality build issues. Wall in bathroom delaminated, top of passenger seat not screwed in place and its frame was cracked. One of the cross boards in gally behind drawer was cracked, lost two greywater hoses due to a mis-sized greywater box door latch. I hit a pothole and broke the Greywater box that houses the hose. Backpanel of galley was water damaged and delaminated. Laminate on Kick board under gally was torn up. Had to replace two poorly designed side door screen doors and still not right

Thor is like a big octopus buying up & destroying formerly decent RV companies. It's a real travesty. The camping community across the US must somehow enforce nationwide quality control laws over the entire RV industry just as rigid as what's enforced for other vehicles or this sort of bad business practice will simply continue unabated.

Great video thank you. I wish I had seen this video and all the other videos about Thor RVs before I bought mine six years ago. Now, having gone through and fixed so many problems, I am actually shocked that Thor is allowed to even stay in business and has not been sued out of existence. The huge number of obvious intentional, fraudulent and unsafe, cost cutting workarounds that they use to get a motorhome finished and out of their factories is simply stunning and IMHO, criminal. Looking at Thor and their craftsmanship’ makes me ashamed that my fellow Americans could be so careless. The only decent decision was to base the RV on Ford’s F53 and Triton V10 chassis and motor. You’ve been warned…

TMC builds crap! Biggest POS on the planet. 2023 Tellaro. Spent six figures on it and we find out after multiple water leaks that damaged interior were caused by two holes inadvertently drilled/screwed through the roof at the factory and was never disclosed by the factory prior to release for retail sale. Cover up! Any items that were added aftermarket by us will not be covered by the water damage. In and out of service and still have a water leak. May be other holes up there that lie under the racks, solar panels, who knows. Instead of enjoying our van the past 8 months of ownership, it's been a frustrating, back and forth to dealership and no real support from Thor. Absolute horrible company! Buyer beware!

My experience - Thors are Crap! Take a moisture meter with you when checking one out for purchase - meter will sound off in the red - Especially in their Class C's - Such Crap and their Customer Service is all Lip Service
