honeslty i hope thor sticks to his guns and refuses the invitation, WSm and eddie dragged his name through the dirt during the build up to the boxing match, regardless of whether it was deserved or not, he has no reason to go back, he has nothing to prove at WSM

@@carlh296Thor was not innocent and he displayed poor sportsmanship but he deleted his post about being cheated out of WSM 2017 shortly after posting and has clearly grown since then. That being said, Colin Bryce is an event organizer (and was head ref in 2017) and should be held to a much higher standard than athletes. Him giving Eddie the bts footage from WSM was unprofessional and shattered the little bit of trust people had in him. If anything it gave weight to Thors claims that Eddie and Colin are friends who colluded to “fix” WSM 2017

The sad thing about WSM is it’s still a TV show made for average viewers that see strongman as a freak show, SMOE & Arnold’s + rogue are doing it 10x better than WSM, even look at the cheap athlete announcement posters, they are a joke - as a designer they look so amateur compared to All the top comps, there’s 0 investment to improve the WSM comp for the strongman FAN. I no longer look forward to this comp, always watching it off someone’s IG story to find out what’s happening, all the real strongman fans see the whole comp anyways through online leaked videos so why not just livestream it on YT or a pay wall ( I understand the complications of WSM, but as a fan I’m sick of it tbh). I’m really glad we have the other big comps to look forward to which care about the sport and everyone who enjoys it.

WSM and Giants Live need Thor more than he needs them. Back in the 10's was the other way around given there was only WSM and the Arnold's and giants live promoted more big events. But ever since Thor gave them the finger in 2020 more and more atlethes and promoters have come trying to overcome WSM. Now we have 4 big shows and the worse by is WSM. Atlethes rather be "the strongest man on earth", or even the "Rogue Invitational champ", and obviously win the Arnold's before even paying attention to WSM. Ever since Thor has been back he is very bad news for giants live, specially now that he is cooking an international deadlift competition wich will take place soon, arguably shattering the only decent hing giants live still has. I just don't see any ay Thor returns to WSM and he doesn't need to, he should stick to his guns and go after those titles like SMOE and Rogue's wich he hasn't won yet. Shatter as many records as he wants and just keep growing the sport. In the end WSM is runed by a corrupted organization, is out of touch with fans, atlethes and where the sport is currently.

WSM and its television rights is the single most reason why the strongman sport itself and the strongman community suffer and have suffered to expand to this day. It’s only been televised in North America and the UK (which equates to a coverage of less than 10% off the planet). It’s virtually impossible to get any footage in other countries. No wonder strongman is in the majority of countries unheard of and most athletes come from these places (UK and North America). I think other comps like the Arnold or Rogue (to some extend SMOE because it’s PPV) that are accessible should replace the WSM contest. Then invite the 30 strongest athletes; increase the comp to 10 events and draw randomly 1-2 grip, 4-5 moving and 4 static events; publish these events at least 4 months in advance and then you can find the actual strongest man on this planet….. no events get swapped at short notice or even on the day (rather drop it to 9 events if impossible to conduct 1 event)….. and no other favouritism as has been the case in the past.

Lets be real its a piss poor comp now anyway compared to the real strongman comps If fans have to get up early in the morning to do spreadsheet follow alongs for ANY sport there is something drastically disconnected between fans and organisers Its a TV show which only keeps any sort of credibility because of the title name it holds Could be a massive comp that grows the sport exponentially if they did it for the fans and scrapped their TV rights deals, and instead focussed on the streaming model and brand deals, but theyre too closed minded and short sighted to care about what the fans think and just care about lining their own pockets. Who even watches terrestrial TV anymore anyway?! Exactly, no real true fans of the sport that buy merch, support athletes, and not the ones who will help make strongman more mainstream I hope Thor doesnt go based on everything they did to him, and it also begins to discredit the real value of holding the title if the top strongmen arent in attendance

In 2017 there was a drag event In the heats and was supposed to be in the finals, but after Colin saw how bad Eddie did in the heats, he removed that event from the final, because if Eddie did bad again he obviously wouldn't win. Then ya got the whole Viking press point deduction BS once they realized removing that event still wasn't enough to guarantee Eddie victory.😂 That's a screw job if I've ever seen one. 🤔

Would be great for the sport but organizers also need to know that kind of stuff is unacceptable Edit: I agree that Thor was a sore looser in 2017 but that does not excuse the organizers in allowing footage to be used to paint him in a dishonest way (especially not shaking Eddie’s hand on the podium). Organizers should be held to a higher standard than athletes

WSM will loose it’s viewers, now with Brian entering Arm wrestling it’s a more exciting sport . I have been watching WSM for over 20 yrs I won’t been be supporting it anymore Arm wrestling with Brian has it made it more exciting for me .
