Loki is one of the best characters on the mcu. There is a reason he is loved by many cause hes amazing. Sure hes a villain but hes not evil. Tom hiddleston was born to play loki, he did a great job.

This movie gets so much undeserved shade. To each their own. Frigga's smirk when she is called a witch is so satisfying...and her funeral...beautiful is not close to the correct word. Odin is always such a commanding presence. Heimdall is amazing; all seeing, steadfast and...that...voice... Looking forward to the next one!

The amazing thing with Loki is that he WAS supposed to die in this movie, but none of the test audiences believed that he was actually dead. So, Marvel took the time to add scenes that would keep Loki alive, and frankly... the MCU has been better for it ever since. The thing with Loki is that he is chaotic... mischievous, but he is not simply evil for evil's sake. He is, truly, burdened with glorious purpose, even if it isn't the purpose he believes he carries. It is glorious nonetheless. Loki really is my favorite MCU character across the board... though, you have a long way to go before you _really_ see why.

Fun fact: Loki was actually supposed to die in this film however, when they did the original screen testing no one believed that he died. Everyone just kept saying "it's a trick right? He's coming back", and so they decided to keep him alive and the scenes of him becoming the guard & then Odin were filmed shortly before the release.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Not only is it my favorite Thor movie, it is my 2nd favorite of the MCU* movies to date. Loki is my favorite MCU* character, so that probably makes me a little biased towards this film. If you guys enjoy deleted scenes, there are some great ones of Thor & Loki from these first two Thor films. Thor & Jane are my favorite MCU* couple. I am a sucker for a good fairy tale type love story. Tony & Pepper are modern. Steve & Peggy are tragic. Bruce & Betty are TBD. Thor & Jane are simply magical. I can’t wait for you guys to see what Loki gets up to further down the MCU* road 😉 💚🗡️💚🗡️💚

Loki was one of the very few good things about this movie. The villain under allll that makeup was Christopher Eccleston, the first Doctor since the reboot of Doctor Who back in 2005. Needless to say, after this movie the powers that be rethought the Thor solo movies. That is another debate if that was a good idea or not. I lean toward the good idea side. Lets go next MCU movie!

I dunno. The Collector is just that - a collector. He has no interest in using the things he collects, he just wants to increase his collection, so the Asgardians knew he probably wouldn't be tempted to use the Aether once he had it. Plus, the Collector is a celestial, so he would theoretically be powerful enough to fend off anyone else interested in acquiring that stone for evil purposes (unless that someone had already acquired a couple of other stones already).

I actually enjoyed The Dark World. We got to see Thor’s grandfather, Frigga’s death, more Loki, Loki and Thor working together, the plot twist at the end(Loki on the throne) and the introduction of the Collector.

"The Dark World" got such a bad reaction from Marvel fans, when it came out. I have always loved it, because it sets up the rest of the MCU storyline in some pretty interesting ways. Of course, I won't tell you how... you'll experience those ways, soon enough. But "The Dark World" is the catalyst that starts to really glue things together.

In the comics The Lady Sif was Thor's previous love interest while Jane Foster was Dr. Donald Blake's love interest. 😂 At least Frigga died in combat so she goes to Valhalla. 😢 "One does not simply destroy The Ether...". 😆

Thor Son of Odin was too arrogant and needed humility so just like in the first Thor movie Odin exiled Thor to Midgard. Placing his essence as it were into a lamed physician. Blake was vacationing in Norway when he was drawn to a cave and found a gnarled stick. He struck it to the ground where he was transformed by the worthy enchantment on Mjolnir to become Thor. (Journey into Mystery vol. 1 #83) As long as the hammer was no more than 60 seconds out of his possession, otherwise he would transform back to Blake, Mjolnir would transform back into a gnarled stick as what happened in his fight with the alien Beta Ray Bill. This is what fans were led to believe until Thor #159 when it was revealed that the Donald Blake identity was a complete fabrication of Odin. In other words a retcon. Lol. 😂😆

I'm glad you enjoyed this film too, I feel it's one of the most underappreciated and somewhat unfairly disliked Marvel movies. I blame it on some people getting so into the "Avengers hype" they had problems enjoying anything that wasn't "main storyline/Captain America" movies. Their loss, I myself enjoyed a lot of the (later phases especially) "smaller" origin story or independent storyline films more than the "big ones". Avoid spoilers and keep on enjoying the ride, catch up with you guys after next Monday!

Loki loves his mother but the rest he could care less because they betrayed him, Thor is the only other he loves but it's a love/hate. His "father" kidnapped him and lied to him for years about his royalty and race, then gave everything to his son by blood Thor. The rest of Asgard put him in prison, hard to see how he would thank them for that.

A lot of people hated this movie but I thought it was ok at the time. Looking back it isn’t in my top 15 or anything. But there were some cool moments. ANYWAYS CAN NOT WAIT FOR WINTER SOLDIER! Because starting at Winter Soldier the MCU steps up in a big way in terms of quality action, comedy, storytelling. Characters, etc. The next 17 movies are peak MCU in my opinion. But minus one or two towards the end of those 17 movies but they’re still really fun!

When I first saw this in the theater, I didn't care for it, mostly because the color pallet was so dark and because I didn't think that the villain was all that interesting. But it's definitely grown on me over the years. As far as where I rank the film, I will only say that my favorite Thor movie is one the third one (which you have yet to see).

Loki is an interesting character and fun to watch but I would never ever trust him. He might do the right thing, if it benefits him, but I can't see him doing anything for the "greater good" so to speak. He helped Thor now but I can't see that he's had a change of heart as to how he view things aka he still thinks he ought to be the King etc. That's basically how I view him here.

I never get why people sh*t on this movie. It's so complex and stets up so many things in the future. I really miss the tone of the first two Thor movies: the epic drama. You weren't talking to me, but I thought about it, and yep, I still love Loki. He didn't assist in his mother’s death, he was sending Kruse after Thor, he ended up where Frigga was because that's where Makekith was. Loki only killed two people in Germany, yes, admittedly that is two too many, but Loki has always been my favorite Marvel character/villain, and next time you think of what Loki has done, think of Tony Stark, and how all the weapons he made billions from has probably killed triple the people Loki has.

Grats, you’ve made it past the worst movie in the MCU before the Dark Times. And it’s not close in my opinion. This movie is just so expositionary and clunky compared to most. And the villain is terrible. It’s still a decent movie, just doesn’t live up to the rest in my opinion. The Loki lovers appreciate it, but even they probably could pass on all the scenes he’s not in. Anyways, good times ahead!

True, the Dark World is probably one of the bottom 3 in phases 1 through 3 or also known as the Infinity saga, this one , Iron man 2 and Ant Man and the Wasp are my 3 least favorites. But all the garbage we have gotten in phase 4 and 5, everything since Spider-Man Far from Home, with the ONLY exception being the Spider-Man 3 NO Way Home, The worst movies of the Infinity saga seem great when compared to the absolute trash in phases 4 and 5. I'm talking about crap like the Eternals, Shang Chi, Ant man Quantumania, Thor Love and Blunder... uh...I mean Thunder, Wakanda Forgettable. The Disney plus MCU shows have been dog shit too. Recently, look at how Terri the MCU has become, for example "The Marvels" was BEYOND awful, and it lost 300 million. I have checked out on the MCU and the only movies I will watch is from the Infinity saga
