+XCashfull Yeah you can, no problem, opinions differ on this one, but since you have Germanic ancestry I see no reason why anyone would be against it. I'm not folkish so for me even someone without a germanic ancestral link can worship our gods as long as he knows the culture, the history and feels more connected with it as his own culture, gods and traditions.

@Umbrella0021. The lore varies from region to region. For example, in the Anglo-Saxon lore, Thor survives and becomes king of Asir, not Baldr. However, regardless of what source, I have not heard of any version of the lore saying there shall only be one god after Ragnarok. Many agree about Baldr's return, but many of the younger gods, such a Magni, Modhi, Vidar, and some others also survive in those same stories.

@IRoXXI The term "Türk" derives from "Türük", it is a philosophical term originated from the pre-Turkic Peoples in regions of the Altai and Baikal around 500 b.c., it means "In Creator believing Race/People". The chinese term for Turks was "T'u-küe" (mightful) and is not dated to 600 a.d., but 1766 b.c..

Ynglinga saga is a euhemerized bastardization of the sacred oral myths. Ynglinga saga was written by Snorri Sturluson and was a Christian. One of Odin's name is Svíðurr and that was where the name of Sweden derives from. Ívaldi, an Alf created by Durin during the primordial age was the king of Sweden. Sweden was named after Odin.

Thor is for sure a nordic god but he was also a Germanic god, since the Nordic people are north Germanic people and tribes. And thats why the Nordic countrys still speak north germanic languages. The cognate deity in wider Germanic mythology and paganism was known in Old English as Þunor and in Old High German as Donar, stemming from a Common Germanic *Þunraz (meaning "thunder"). Cheers

There is a parallel text with the Aranakya Upanisad Chapter 2 onwards and the Hymiskvitha of the Poetic Edda. In the former the gods are in the sea and ask for drink for which Thor embarks and in the latter they are in the sea and ask for food and are answered by the friendly God. There are thousands of miles between ancient India and ancient Norse country - thought provoking.

@KipchakTegin but if you say they came from carpathian basin(pannonia etc.) and call them "proto-turks" then you probably mean indogermanics. In this case your "proto-turks" aren't really turks because they mated with mongols etc. and mated over several thousands of years with other tribes and ethnicies. What we call Turk is what came back from Asia to where Turkey is today and not what moved away from europe(In this case Turks may have Germanic ancients)

@IdelUralState Lagerbring brought this theory in the 18. century (1750 or something). To this date the archäological abilities weren't that good and today there's no voice of trustable scientists that tries to argue on Lagerbrings theory. Also Lagerbring tried to find similarities between Swedish and Turkish culture and language( old runes etc.) and didn't find that much. Fact is that the Vikings(8. century) went southwards and settled partly in the today's turkish area.

Most people in Europe inspired each other in one way or another. Like the greeks inspired the romans and so on.. But the Norse take on and development of the many differrent mythologies travelling throughout Europe around these times resulting in the norse/viking religion and mythologies is similar but still different from the Germanic mythologies and religion. The spread of the actual pure Norse/viking mythologies in south of Scandinavia was still very limited.

@KipchakTegin first of all, if this culture is called "Cucuteni-Tripolie" then it's name is obviously not "Turk". And the name "Turk" is first arrived in world history in chinese chronicals about a clan of nomads called "T'u-küe" in the 6. century. Their exact heritage isn't known. But it's a fact that they're from asia. The "Cucuteni-Tripolie" are from the area around Serbia and "Rumänien" and arrived in 4800 before Chr. .Between these thousands of years they can't be your "personal" ancients

@IdelUralState There maybe existed a group of nomads in China like the Mongols who have similarities to the "modern" Turks or Turkey , but they have NOTHING to do with Indogermanic ethnicies or their culture. In the area of Europe the Turks came up in the 12. century because this was the time when the Turks invaded Byzanz(Constantinopel, renamed it to Istanbul). The Turks never travelled far enough to the north to possibly be ancients of the Germanics who lived there 1000's of years before.

A more likely explanation is that they belong to a dynasty that moved to sweden after the collapse of the Atilla empire. Being armed with cultures that had been changed by the long contact with and struggle against rome. Meaning they had a new political system with kings that controlled professional soldiers. The more pristine germanic culture of the people in sweden were no match for them so they could create an unparalelled political centre.

I also don't know how to evaluate german historian's book's from the 19th century about other's culture's history. I don't think it's too precise and the informations are certainly not well gathered. Especially because the Turks had to be dominant over the majority of other tribes in their own country as a foreign tribe. Maybe they needed the help of their economical partner to establish their culture in this region as legitime("neutral" Historians shall write books about a long turk history)

@IdelUralState How do you come to the name "Turk". "Turk" comes from "T'u-küe" and this name approached for the very first time in chinese chronicals in the 6. Century after Christ. And why do you(all who say Turks lived in Europe for thousands of years before Germanics) speak of "Proto-Turks", "Bulgarian-Turks", "Russian-Turks" ? The name "Turk" did NOT exist for ANY cultural group before the 6th century. There may partly lived some ancients of you in these regions but they weren't "turks".
