I digged up a TD 165 on the attic and my dad claimed that only the needle needs replacing.

Heh, you mean you "dug" it up and please say stylus. A needle is for sewing. Terminology can be a bear some days... Seriously, If I were you I would replace the entire cartridge with a good one (depending on what you have on it - chances are real high it is not setup properly). TMF

Fair assessment - wish I had the time to edit most of this stuff down. I simply do not because I work full time on a military base as a civilian now (retired military), DJ/VJ weddings and events on weekends, Have a yacht to also sail on off weekends that I am not gigging plus I am a massive audio nut rebuilding amps and such - something simply has to give. Polished sharing videos is simply one of those time management hits sorry to say. Suggest a judicious use of the fast forward slider to get past the endless nattering ;-) This particular video was actually made for the guy I sold this turntable to (in Toronto) as he was an out of towner and a TT noob. I am on the west coast. I simply decided to open up the share on this video rather than waste a post someone else might be able to find and use....
