I loved the Sunbeam Talbot Alpine. My cousin had one and my uncle added a rumble seat. Very fun riding as a young teen. So many wonderful cars, can't thank you enough for your learned tour.

32:15. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many MK2 Cortinas in one place [ since I was at a Ford Dealership as a kid.]. 📻😁

9:22 Nearly, that’s a Vauxhall VXR8 based on the Holden Commodore. I appreciate that you’re actually acknowledging it’s an Australian car though, so as an Aussie I thank you! 😊

Hi. Thanks for a well presented and informative video. Also for you kind comments on our Alpine Mk1 (56.01). It’s nice that people appreciate it after so many years of restoration. It’s our first (and definitely last) attempt at restoring a car. We bought the car in pieces back in 2015 and it finally saw the road in May 2023 after 45 years of storage and various failed restorations.

Morning, thanks for checking out the video, I'm glad you found it of interest, your car was definitely one of my favourites of that day, perhaps the favourite.

Hi Richard . Yes . That 1927 big Austin was a beauty . I think DeLorean chose the PRV engine as well. You don't normally mention battery consumption. Are the batteries getting old ? Have a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas . And thankyou for keeping me sane during the past 12 months .....well sort of 😅
@oldclassiccarUKАй бұрын
Camera batteries? Some are older than others, as well as replacing cameras from time to time, batteries do drop off after a while so I always have to have 7 or 8 charged up with me, especially when the youthful assistant is also "with camera" :-) All the best to you also.

Richard - lovely as alaways to immerse myself in your videos! That beautiful 57 Chevy just might be the rarest one in the country. It has the fuel injected 283 cubic inch V8 which put out a staggering 283 horsepower. Not many cars could match that in the late 50s! The engine was also fitted to Corvettes and used a Rochester mechanical fuel injection system that I think also formed the basis of the Rover V8 application although that was electronic. r.

Thanks for the extra information, that's a decent chunk of bhp!

A story I tell , in the late 70,s we were finalising the route for the Monte Minor Rally in Kent , in my friends new Datsun 240Z, we had nearly finished and were on the Julliberry Down track above Chilham, as we came near the end we dropped into a low section which was covered in mud. No surprise we got stuck , several attempts and a bit of pushing did not seem to help . Then two walkers came along and offered to help. After several attempts no luck ,I tried to give Dave some advice which he didn't accept, his answer was If you think you could do better you try,I had never driven a 240Z ,after 2 or 3 attempts no good ,thinking they didn't want to try much more on the final attempt I floored the throttle and changed into second gear ,the Datsun fish tailed up the slope to dry ground Thinking I had done well ,I got out pleased with my effort until I saw them stating there covered from head to foot in slimy mud.Oh dear they didn't share my enthusiasm, can't think why!

An excellent Video again. I wonder if the Standard Ensign was an ex military staff car. '64 B Reg looks a bit out of place 🤔

Could well be the case yes, it could explain the slightly later reg.

The Vitesse 306 PVO is a 1962 car therefore it is a 1596cc (same 6 cyl with smaller bores). Launched 1962 with twin Solex carburettors. These were replaced with twin Stromberg CD 150 carburetors in 1965. 1998cc engine did not come until late 1966.
