I'm polish but I won't be biased if I say that Grzegorz Rosiński is one of the best comic ilustrator in the world. The Arches is a great story and Thorgal as a whole is my favourite comic. I bought my first book of Thorgal in 1989 and got all books as soon as they were released. I got 28 books in 15 years that I still have and go back to read every few years. Love it every time. I'm 46 now😉

Oh this brings back memories from my youth. The first eleven books including "The Eyes of Thanatloc" are absolutly great, this is where the story comes full circle, after that the series sort of falls apart and he starts rehashing old characters. "The Maaster of the Mountains" is a late highlight but after that the series sorta died for me, not to mention the spin offs.. But the early ones are amongst the best comics that I have read. Highly recommend it.

I've just watched your Thorgal videos after a mate recommended this comic. Me and my nephew were looking for some sword and sorcery / medieval fantasy to read together - without it being too violent or explicit. This looks perfect. It'll be nice springboard into other reads ;)

"The Sean Connery"......that litteraly made me laugh out loud. These look interesting. Limited time, and limited cash to dedicate towards comics have prevented me from buying any of the European comics you review. Maybe one day.

If these were distributed better in the US i would definitely say check these out.

All the previous volumes have been excellent. But yes, these are a bit hard to find over here as well.

You should read 10,11,12 and 13 album also!! They are assosiated with each other! You can find out who is Thorgal's father from them!

Awesome! US channel making vids of European comics🤘🏻The last video is one year old so not sure if you’re still active but I subbed anyway. I enjoy hearing views of European comics from outside of Europe.

Oh you will not be disappointed by what happens next beetween Thorgal and Kriss de Valnor. When I was a kid reading the 21st album «La couronne d'Ogotaï » in my local «médiathèque», I found the introduction scene to be so emotionally powerful that it got stuck in my head for many years. Now has an adult I'm reading all of the albums all over again just because of this scene and the emotional bagage that goes into it. It's truly a shame that this bande dessinée has been censored. A lot of the emotional charge of some scenes from the comics are gone. I'm glad you found your way into the world of Thorgal for you'll enjoy the journey for sure ! Keep doing well ! PS : Thorgal has also music dedicated to him - - > kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYHblp94pMdsbKs Enjoy ! Some 2000's french music in all its glory ! 😊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqXQg6N5i5h2o9E

what is being censored for the English readers? If it's just things like the Guardian's breasts usually covered by her hair or allusions to Kriss' abuse it's fine. I'd rather those sort of things be hinted rather than explicitly shown. But Kriss is an amazing character. The author created someone you love to hate but also someone you don't really want to die... well we'll see... after taking advantage of THorgal's memory loss, she kind of crossed a line..

I suggest you learn to _read_ French. I say _read_ because actually the language is much easier to read than to speak, especially if you are an English speaker. The Thorgal series is really amazing and new episodes are still published today. I taught French as a second language in England at the university and my experience is that learning to read the language takes in average between 3 to 4 months. The vocabulary is very similar to English and most of the complicated stuff is actually absent from BD (I'm talking about verb tenses). You can even use your phone to translate some of the dialogs. Just as an example of the similarity between the two languages. The word "archer" in English is actually the same as in French. In French a "bow" is actually called an "arc". "Archer" simply means "bowman" in French, and the word "bowman" was replaced with its French equivalent in English. Go figure...
