That Great Goblin impression almost made me lose my voice hahaha. I'll try and make some videos in December. I'm currently trying to build a minor box to record better voice-over so perhaps that will also help a bit with speed. I already got two manuscripts ready, I just need to record the audio. Thank you all for watching! The channel has really been growing fast, so thanks to everyone that have supported! ⚔ Also have you ever been accused of being friends with elves? 🤔

Best of luck with that box, how do you intend to make such a thing? Sounds pretty neat!

@@thebrotherskrynn I've bought a lot of acoustic foam and intend to buy 3 wooden boards that are 2m tall and 60cm wide, then add the foam inside. Then a new microphone arm that can bend the microphone as I like inside the box. Then when standing inside the sound should bounce around less :)

A really interesting theory, never thought about it before it really seems obvious after watching this video!

You have great editing skills and great voice acting! An interesting thought. It could be that rumors come around. Thorin's kin would be infamous to the denizens of the mountains. Maybe even the story of how Thorin got his nickname. So maybe the goblin king calculated the possibilities and made a smart guess.

Thank you very much! Those impressions took away my voice for the evening hahah Yeah it's very likely that the great goblin simply guessed it. Since we know Thorin also took part in the war it might have been a name the goblins remember in Goblin-town along with the other leaders of the war. They sure seem to remember Orcrist and the tale behind it, so it could also be a very good explanation. Not sure if they would know the 'Oakenshield' story though, so that is what I find curious. Seems more like a personal story that would pass between dwarves - and since dwarves are so secretive it might not have been a name/ title many knew, but then again Thorin first acquired it after the war.

@@CounciloftheRings You're right in that. But I love when some things remain a mystery. Like in real life, there are always those unanswered questions.

Feels more like he knows of him. Thorin built quite the name for himself in the war and one the orcs/goblins wouldn't soon forget. Thorin would have also had his oak shield with him and with how rumor spreads far and wide throughout the dens of orcs and their kin. I wouldn't be surprised if the Goblin king had his memory refreshed of Thorin or even if his sentries had seen him long before his capture. Orcs are very watchful and not so barbaric to blindly charge. They will wait, watch and stalk for great lengths of time and distance to achieve various results or simply to follow orders. Their eyes are also very keen because, even when Sam, Frodo and Golem climbed the steps there was orc sentries that knew full well of their presence for some time. Their cloaks and natural stealth did very little to hide them or golem from orcish eyes. The goblin king still could have seen him at one point during the war but, a distant glace is fairly hard to consider a meeting IMO and wouldn't really be enough to consider knowing him well at all. He more than likely knows of him from stories and reports passed on from orc to orc and possibly even scripts and scrolls. Orcs seem to be keener on oral history but, if they were to write about one type of event. It would be war and the history of great battles closely followed by grog recipes and fighting manuals. One doesn't simply learn how to read marching orders and nothing else.

Well the thing is he would have to know his face. Knowing about someone is easy, but he recognized him after seeing his face. Sure if scouts had spotted the party and reported back, it could be one of them that knew him. Still that’s not the impression you get when you read the text

@@CounciloftheRings True enough, very interesting video regardless. I can't wait to see what you do with the Orcs in kingdoms of Arda. You get the impression of nothing but, pure violence in the film but, they have some nuance to them.

@@calebnorstrom6143 True - I hope we can flesh out the orcs-lorewise as well, as we don't know much about them and how their society works. Hopefully we can come up with stuff that both seem to fit the lore and allows for good and interesting gameplay 😆

I never actually thought about it, probably because I don't remember that conversation from the book well. I always thought it is the movie conception but it looks like I'm wrong. Yeah it seems very probably to me that they met now that you clarified it. They probably didn't fought against each other at battlefield but Great Goblin might have seen the young dwarf fighting.

Yeah or at least heard his name in the war along with some of the other famous dwarves that took part in it :D The hatred that the great goblin would have to dwarves and Thorin would have a deeper layer at least. The Great Goblin would likely have known many that died in the war.
