Fruit the thorn is actually one of the top tier pve handcannons right now, the devour perk melts ads easily, with it’s more powerful version it auto reloads the magazine 4 rounds and endlessly shoots, it’s very popular amongst those that actually have it in horde mode type games like EP and Reckoning, thorn hits very hard with ad and major clear

Thorn was one of my first exotics I got in D1 (pocket infinity was my true first exotic, anyone remember that gun) but Thorn has a special sweet spot for me so it’s nice to see it back.

My clan and I are all pretty stoked about the Thorn being back. Honestly, there's really only a handful of weapons from D1 that came back and the ones that did are typically very iconic and have a ton of awesome story/lore around them (Ace, Thorn, LW). They also were tweaked. The vast majority of all exotic weapons available aren't bring backs. Black Armory had 3 exotic weapons and then LW.

I think since its niche is its DoT I think it could do with a little more range. Making it able to kill from slightly farther range would make it harder in some scenarios where people can shoot well at long range to get the orb, balancing out the ranged use of the gun with making it riskier to power up with it. Either that or the orb buff should be able to stack maybe 3x so that the poison damage could still allow a poison kill w/ 2 headshots at range but not make any difference at midrange. The difficulty of hitting 2 longrange headshots with this 3x buff would make it so its not the easiest thing to pull off either considering the bulkiness of the gun with its recoil.

FYI: Thorn can 2 crit 1 body, bc the DOT is enough to kill low resiliance Guardians. If you proc the perk, it can 2 crit DOT to death.
