From 9 years old, 3 others and me trekked through here from Seacroft to a wood above Thorner. An annual trip for the next 4 years, starting in 1947 aged 9.

My grandparents and great-grandparents are buried at Thorner's St. Peter's graveyard. Thorner was a wonderful place. My grandfather was the mayor of Thorner many decades ago.

Thanks - enjoyed the video. Shame you didn't come a few weeks later and you could have visited Bluebell Woods (Bottoms Wood) in full bloom - a sight to behold!

Year round thing so luck not on Thorner's side. Mind you it was still really pretty in the sunshine

Now you’ve said you’ve not seen many disused railways in West Yorkshire you’ll be seeing them everywhere. There are a lot!

Not to forget the Lines (old Castleford-Garforth railway) featured in the Allerton Bywater and Great & Little Preston videos (and presumably Kippax too when it comes out!). Incidentally, another pronunciation alert - Barwick-in-Elmet is pronounced 'Barrick'. I expect you'll be filming there soon!
