You’re days away from 18
Well it’s coming up yeah it’s coming up
Yeah you know that all the boys around me know
You’re dressed up like you’re prom queen
With your makeup on, but she’s 21
Yeah you know that she will never see you tonight
For tonight with me
To knight with me
Form the sea
Don’t break my heart, nearly 22
Let me be with you
Dare me to start
I’ll see it through
When you say I do
You can’t stop my heart
Let me be with you
Just dare me to start
You know that I know I can’t stop
We dance the night away together
I don’t understand
Why all these eyes keep following us
When we dance the night away
You want me to own the floor
So I sang to make you love me
I’m needing some space to see
The way you move me
Cause I know that you know
You like my hips to swing against you gently
So dont break my heart
Let me be with you
Dare me to start
I’ll see it through
When you say I do
You can’t stop my heart
You can’t break my heart
Dare me to stop
I know I know
“To knight with me
Form a sea”

Every new song they've released is literally just Deftones.... it's not their signature sound; they straight up copied it from another band my dude. The entire TDP album was a masterpiece. This new stuff they're putting out is sooooo bad. I did not expect them to regress. I hope this album is just an experiment and they make more good music in the future.

Such a soothing and beautiful song, and while I still am not too sure about this album as a whole just yet, I can safely say that this is easily one of the best songs on it, possibly even the best. I think it says a lot when one of the best songs here is a softer one.

Positive thoughts: They really improved in terms of instrumental sections. So damn good. But there is one thing that drags it down for me... Negative thoughts: Im always focused on the vocals and i really dont know why they choosed this mixing. Jacobs voice is so burried under everything, that it isnt even existent most of the time. And im sad to say that, because his voice was soooo good in TDP.

I thought that at first but if you listen to thier interviews talking about creating the album it was a stylistic choice to create the vibes and full cinematic wall of sound. It's not an album you can listen to on crappy speakers you need good 5.1 channel speakers with decent bass to hear the whole production how it was intended. It took me a while to understand it, give it a few listen though good headphones

what a disappointment... from a masterpiece album with well defined sounds of instruments and vocals, with such a unique signature of writing and sound and ambient, you've just given up what makes you special to become this Deftones-inspired album that sounds way less defined in every way. vocals are simply incomprehensible and sound as if jake sings through a bloody kazoo. The mixing also lays him way back to add to that problem. most of the time the instruments come together as undefined noise. the album doesn't give any feel that i can say stuck to me. i got left with... just this generic feeling... songs sound too similar and monotonic and have no progression to them.. no story besides reading the lyrics to try and understand the idea of it all.... such a bloody shame... makes all of this effort feel like you are hiding behind a very strong apparel to mask the fact that the music is not as strong as the fashion for this one. when the dark pool came out, i had listened to that album almost each and every day for a year, and i only realized it's been a year when you posted the anniversary for it. that year went by so fast. mostly listening to that album and trying to find any band that might have a similar sound. now i have to find it in other bands...
@jacob7225
@jacob7225 2 жыл бұрын
your opinion isn't objectively true. i find the dark pool to be way more bland than this because it's literally just metalcore with a slightly different vibe. this, however appeals to me because it retains the thornhill special sauce but layers it with a bunch of new elements and look. the look and characters they all perform as is just as much part of creating the vibe as the music is - and that's not necessarily better or worse than how they went about making the dark pool, just a different way of achieving a vibe :)

Honestly to me this album is in many ways a direct successor to the dark pool. They took all the atmosphere and thornhill aspects and funneled it into a new but very distinctly thornhill album. When they dropped new songs i wasnt expecting the dark pool again, and im very happy with this album. I get the same feeling on this that i get off the dark pool, and reptile. I get not being happy with it thats fine, but i dont think its bad music.
