I'm sorry man. My dog Bailey recently passed away. I've had her since I was 7 and now I'm about to graduate college, so it's been a long journey. I hate that I wasn't there when she died, I was out of town doing an internship. Everyone was there with her but me and I wish I could have been but I wasn't. The next time I was at my house, I was eating dinner and once I was done I put the plate on the ground and walked into the kitchen. When I came back out I looked at the plate expecting it to be clean and it wasn't. That's when it really hit me. I had known her for 14 years of my life and grew to know her personality. It might sound dumb but she was like a real person, she was happy and sad, energetic and tired, she whined and begged, she even looked visibly guilty when she got into something she shouldn't have and would go hid in some corned ashamed of herself. At some point the line between pet and family blurred and when I lost her I knew I had lost family. Obviously I can't imagine losing my mom or anyone else. You are really strong for getting through that, even though there is still probably plenty of tunnel left to go...I wish you luck Max.

This genuinely breaks my heart listening to and reading these lyrics. As someone who grew up with dogs within the family home, the day they pass is one of the hardest days of your life. All those years and memories spent with them, only for life to take them away from you. It’s excruciating and it does truly take a piece of your soul away from you. Phenomenal track.

I lost my dog to liver cancer a few days ago during the time I discovered this song. He was like no other dog in this world and losing him felt like I've lost my one and only closest friend. When you know it's time for your pet, spend every moment you can have with them, because in the end, that was 15 years of joy and affection for myself, but for him I was his joy for his entire life.

When I first heard this song when the album released, it was instantly my favourite, and also knowing what the song was about, It made me dread the inevitable day that I would lose my dog, sadly that day came to pass last year in august. Put my little pug Oscar that i rescued down 2 days ago. I took him to the park before hand and got a picture of him watching his last sunset. It was like the rays were lifting him up i wish i could put a photo on here. Im not lieing when i say He had actual tears coming out of his eyes me and my girlfriend noticed them its like he knew. He cried more in the clinic too before his injection. Hardest thing i have ever done in my life my heart is still shattered. This song has helped alot with the grieving 💔.
