Thorns Build still goes HARD in Elden Ring

On one hand it sucks that the damage has been decreased but that tracking actually makes it more consistent and safer to use. As powerful as it was before, you'd basically have to be right in the bosses face for the most maximum damage, and that leaves you really vulnerable especially on ng+7 where everything can 2 shot you. You can actually fire this thing off at a distance and still do really good damage

The point is to have arcane high to maximize bleed status, you can use mother staff so is still op

I think buffing the tracking on the spell made it more consistent

I wish Impenetrable Thorns was an incantation instead. I used to use magic previously years ago in the base game but now solely use incantations so the seal already takes up a slot including the other left and right hand slots.

There is always the staff of great beyhond which both casts spells and incantations

​@@davidtsmith33I was gonna say the same thing. It actually scales pretty good surprisingly. It's not the best but it's definitely usable. I'm actually using it right now. Trying to work a good synergistic build between faith and int. Not going well and looking for tips tho lol. Anyway, I did the same as you, I played magic at first but over time I'm realizing incantations seem to be better. Over time I just can't help but keep leaning towards them even when I try to build mage

@@Unknowngnostic I've since equipped the Staff of Great Beyond as recommended by Mikelefico and that's going great. Awesome to be able to cast both magic spells and incantations with it instead of having to equip both staff and seal. Best of both worlds IMO.

built right its still strong. But this aint it. Ive seen people using bleed stuff with this, and its still pretty nasty. White mask, LoB, ect. Still pretty crazy.

@@crisnmaryfam7344 yeah when I used howl and all the dmg buffs it still did nasty damage, but you get so squishy with all the dmg negation debuffs😂
