This isn’t exactly the first release you’d listen to when getting into black metal. For context this is a demo tape by a guitarist Snorre Ruch. The quality is low, and there is only bass and guitars on it. The reason it is acknowledged is because it showcased new techniques not before heard in black metal at an early stage. His guitar playing here is key, and it was a new way to play cold, dark and atmospheric black metal riffs

This was never ment to be released, but it happend. Snorre is probably the person that has influenced the gitarsound of Norwegian Black Metal. Øystein from Mayham was deffenitly one.

​​​@@Chad_Fuckhammer just because a rehearsal doesn't have a good quality, doesn't mean that all the musical ideas were shit and worthless. this tape was invaluable to the evolution and innovation of black metal. so much so, that black metal has literally never left the 2nd wave in terms of sound. good production may be needed to optimize an album and give it its trademark sound, but it's not at all needed to evaluate the riffs or melodies. considering how most accusations are a reflection of the accuser, you seem like a taylor swift fan yourself based on your surface level musical takes.
