THOROGOOD AMERICAN HERITAGE 8″ TOBACCO MOC TOE MAXWEAR WEDGE - Gear Review

This is my review of the Thorogood American Heritage 8″ Tobacco Moc Toe Maxwear Wedge. These boots are grade for trade work and factory floors. I highly recommend these boots for long work days with increased standing and laboring. I've never owned a more comfortable pair of work boots in my life.

I have Danner, thorogood, Redwing, Truman moc toe boots. By far the best work boot is the Thorogoods. If you work hard in your boots make sure you clean them regularly and condition them often. They last a lot longer if you do. If the leather gets lighter it’s time for them to be conditioned. I walk on concrete all day. Thorogood are the best for that.

Yep. I work on a concrete floor 8-12 hours a day. These are re absolute best for that.

I have the crazy horse and tobacco 8inch Thorogoods. I used to wear Rocky Bearclaw 3s all the time and still do sometimes but once I found a Moc toe they’ve been the most comfortable boots I’ve ever worn. One I work in one I wear everywhere else. I’m the type of person that wears boots 365 days a year and I’m rough on them. Can’t beat em. I wear a 11 shoe, 10.5 D in Thorogood. Redwing a D width swallows me whole and even tho they say they offer a B width in the 10877 8inch Moc online they aren’t making it. So I stick with Thorogoods. In my opinion you can’t beat an 8inch Wedge sole Moc toe. Especially working 8-12 hours on a concrete floor. I got me some of that leather honey. Comes with a bottle of leather cleaner and leather conditioner. That shit works real good for cleaning and conditioning. A lot less messy than saddle soap. I just sent my foot measurements to White’s boot company for a pair of their 8inch Perry Select wedge sole Moc toes. If you don’t know about White’s check them out. They’re a better boot than a redwing according to a lot of people on here that review them for a living.

How was the sizing. I have gone through a couple of the Steel Toe. I had an 11 and a 10.5 wide and they were both comfortable. For reference I wear 11 in Nike. What was your opinion on this boots sizing?

Perfect I got a 9.5 and the toe box was large enough my toes aren't crushed all day. I wear a 9.5 in boots and 10 in Nike.

FYI the top stitch on the welt is fake, i.e. it doesn't actually stitch through the vamp. It's just decoration. If you want the "best" wedge sole work boots, check out White's Journeyman or Nick's Traveler boots.

Im in Australia and I want a pair of these, most of my shoes I wear are a U.S. 10.5 should I go with that size?

Yes they fit well. The toe box is big so they don't squish. Mate

Just curious as to where you heard this. Their site still lists the EE sizes, and I can find them locally as well as online in EE. Just wondering if I need to add two pair to my rotation before I can't find them, lol.

@@kitcraft9516 redwing 10877 comes in that width but they have a leather insole which you may not like. That’s what I switched to but added a thin insole. They are more expensive but thorogood seems to be slowly closing the gap.
