If you are new to detailing, I have a couple of thoughts. First of all, all painted surfaces need to be cleaned, which would include Hood & trunk areas & door jams. These areas need to be protective. Also, when using chemicals, always wear protective gloves...

@diydetailofficial7 ай бұрын
none at all! If there's dust that's accumulated before polish, just do a quick wipe down with Rinseless Wash first. if you're waiting until the next day to coat, make sure to do Panel Prep wipe before you coat

Hi Yvan, I have a question about Rinseless Wash. I know it cleans, and I find the application very versatile. But I have noticed one thing: Here in Norway, where I live, there is often a very dark, almost black, static traffic film on the car. If I use APC, this type of traffic film is significantly reduced. If I pre-wash with Rinseless Wash, this film is lifted up to a certain extent, but not removed in the same way as with APC. If I pre-wash with Rinseless and gently slide my finger over it, the black disappears immediately. However, I still like this black traffic film to be removed before I touch the paint with the sponge. So: Do you think it is oil-based dirt on the car in this case? And if so, should I use APC instead of Rinseless Wash to remove this type of dirt?

Yvan, new to this rinseless method. Can you do a video showing close-ups (or even photos if that's not feasible) of you wiping over the panels. Showing how much water is on the panel after the spray, after you've wiped over with the sponge? And the demonstrating how much water is too much or too little. Or maybe I'm overthinking this. Cheers

Hi Yvan, was watching another channel yesterday and they mentioned that after using panel prep (before coating) the coating instructions states to wash your car again with a degreaser such as dishwashing liquid to guarantee removal of polishing oils etc. This is a well known brand. Have you heard of such a thing? Thanks
@diydetailofficial7 ай бұрын
Yes, if you’re polish is heavy in solvents and oils a degreasing step is needed. This was also a popular step years ago when polishing created dust. With The Gold Standard Polishing System there’s no need to add a time wasting step. Also washing again means you risk having water in crevices.
@rooboy997 ай бұрын

What if you can’t go over the whole car with iron remover/clay towel before rinsing? Rinsing panel by panel seems like that would present too much water on the adjacent panel and dilute the iron remover too much.

Only thing I disliked about my Challenger are all the places where water accumulates when washing, especially the trunk lid/tail light area. After opening the trunk and drying everything, I'd have to set towels over the tail light area and set the lid down on them and let it sit for a while.
