Those left behind | Spectralis 2 and Sequential Prophet 10

I received the email - I got to the top of the queue for the Cirklon. Why did I even sign up for it? I spent 3 years not preparing for it, just assuming some day I would have to make a decision, and now I'm here. What would it do for me I can't already do? My Spectralis does all I need, albeit, in maybe not the best way possible - but is there a best way? Sure, I can see the Cirklon does more, better, faster, but also maybe does things I don't care about.
I actually hate having a lot of gear hooked up. Slows me down. 3-4 pieces is good enough for me. If you can't make a song with only a few instruments, then I question whether you can make music at all (Ok, that's just me talking to myself about my own capacities - huge orchestras are built off of tons of instruments, I get it). What I make is simple, sad, and that's it. My music only speaks to me saying: some day - you will not be among the living and this music is being made to haunt those left behind.
I know the Cirklon is the 'best sequencer' out there... so maybe I just need to buy it and see for myself. I do know the Spectralis does stuff I really enjoy, like sequencing itself and other gear, using it as an FX processor to manipulate all sorts of things to the beat. Just a unique piece... I also know it so well.

I totally agree with what the description says. I like to use just one analogue synth and one FM digital synth. As to other instruments, there's my electric bass, my saxophone, and my guitars. I picked each one for the tones and sounds I want in my music, and I value getting the most depth I can out of them. I am always a little suspect of people who have dozens and dozens of synths hooked-up, with a couple of key exceptions. It reminds me of people who scroll through tons of VSTs every time instead of having a curated folder of a few favourites. It's like they're just casting a net in search of their sound, instead of cultivating it deliberately.

Yeah, definitely. For me, more than that, it’s not fun to write music with tons of gear. Or at least I don’t enjoy it! I guess some people make it work, but even if they don’t and have fun… that’s good too :)

I'm a Proud Cirklon 2 and Spectralis 2 owner. I must admit I have had real trouble with the Spectralis, but your videos have been such a great help. I find it so menu divey and an oddball to programme. I definitely wouldn't sell it, though, as I know one day it'll click, but probably never reach the mastery you've achieved! Buy the Cirklon 2; it's dope.

I'm glad the videos have been helpful! This thing is just second nature to me now. I feel I have paired myself with the thing and can't change. That said - I am pretty sure I'll grab the Cirklon. If nothing else, I can sell it, hopefully for what I paid for it, but in my local market, that seems unlikely these days.
