Heya Kara. Do you like to accept constructive critisism? I've got some really sound advices for you, but did not find a way to contact you privately(and I assume you would not like to have all of it here in the comments). If you like, Is there any place or way I can do this? II'll mention some about it here though so you get an idéa what it's about.. It's about what truly makes a musician/music piece great, which for me after watching a few videos of you made me want to point out as I feel that even though it's quite obvious to people quite deep into music, it surely might be unnoticeable to another, and also, maybe most easily, for yourself... I'd like to tell you about it so you'll not only be skilled and consecutive, but also become great and heartmoving :) For you who are this skilled already it's more easily accesible, and you would soooo much more actually enjoy playing! It's not really work rhen. For shalt not musicians make music which truly touches more deeply, moves one's hearts and leaves goosebumps and wonder.. for me anyhow, without that genuinity, the music can be as skillful as it likes but leaves me hollow, and as such, is not something I'd like to present wholeheartedly, as it did not get that magnificent touch that clings with your Spirit & Life itself. I'd like help for your and everyones sake. Love, Simon

Thank you for this Simon! I always want to hear my listener's comments and thoughts, and criticisms as well. Although to be honest I'm going to be quite set in my ways, as I've been immersed and well taught in music for almost my entire life. The fact is that even I can listen to recordings of some of the greatest pianists in the world and ask myself "did they really get into that, are they really feeling it as much as I do?" But there are many reasons for this. Some have to do with quality of recording, the piano itself, and even the fact that, after having played a particular piece so many hundreds of times, even the greatest pianist may not be feeling the emotions as much as they were when they first started learning the piece. Music is an art and will never be the same. It has imperfections and the musicians who perform the music have imperfections. It might be interesting for you to continue to listen to my recent recordings on my new piano and see what you think. I like the way my new piano records even better than the Steinway, as the Steinway needed some voicing and I had difficulty playing softly. but yes please send your thoughts! My email is karaprodigypiano@gmail.com Thank you for listening!!

Beautiful! It's one of my favorite pieces because it flows effortlessly from wild and aggressive into a serene section. It's like the pianist gets rewarded with a short break before he has to head back into battle. I also love the way the main progression sounds so encouraging to just go out and do something.

This one was a HUGE favorite with my Final Fantasy followers! I had tons of people asking for this one. Actually I recorded Those Who Fight Further thinking it was the same piece (it's actually my favorite of the two), but found out there were TWO separate pieces! So naturally I had to record this one too ;) Can you believe this is just a main battle theme for a video game?!
@scythelord6 жыл бұрын
Yeah personally those who fight further is my favorite of the battle songs from FFVII. I love the Black Mages' (Nobuo Uematsu's band) version of the song. It's basically the same as it is in the game, just way better quality and seemingly more powerful.

This brings so many childhood memories... I pity whoever says videogames are not art and are not capable of enjoying them. Storylines, characters, art design and MUSIC; all these elements combined in the right way can create true masterpieces in which YOU are the protagonist. Yesterday I was watching a streamer and suddenly 'Rose of May' played. I felt nostalgic. I went to YT and looked for the song, and I don't know why I clicked on your cover. It gave me goosebumps. Started watching videos and went to bed around 2 AM. No regrets at all. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

Ah.....the third one I am listening to today in your collection from "Final Fantasy" and was hoping I would find this one in your collection!!! It's my favorite work of all the Final Fantasy music creations and in my opinion, the most difficult (although another pianist claimed it was One-Winged Angel for her). In any event, you have managed to pull this off so very beautifully!!! You capture the incredible peaks and valleys of this music so well!! I won't even dare attempt this. An old car accident as a teen prevented my career as a solo concert pianist due to lingering nerve issues that limit my speed and dexterity somewhat (mostly intricate, fast runs and arpeggios), but I am not complaining. I adapt, but for some pieces, such as this one, I now must live vicariously through others like yourself. BRAVO for this brilliant performance Kara! ~Jackie
@KaraComparetto7 жыл бұрын
Yes this one is pretty difficult, and definitely compares in difficulty to One Winged Angel. I struggled more with OWA though hahaha. Those Who Fight Further is also a tough one! I would love to record some of these again (Although I like this one), because they're not quite as intense as I'd like them to be. I've learned a lot in the past year about playing with more intensity (my skill lies best in early classical music). :)

The way you play is so clean and well controlled. This song is pretty amazing, never really took time to listen when I played the game. I get a kick from watching how accurate your fingers are and how you actually manage some of those chords at the speed you are playing, I was waiting for keys to go flying lol. Out of most people playing on the internet, I think you're very talented and almost one of the nicest person without a god complex or an ego issue. I enjoy so far most of what I have listened to. Very soothing, most of the arrangements you chose are very engaging, even the slower songs. I'm not a classical person, after listening to some of the ones you have on, I had to admit it sounded really nice. The passion and emotional expressions you show are still epic, not sure that would ever drop off since it is your passion. You had me listening from start till end which is rare for me lol. You're doing a great job and I would have you as a teacher to learn from any day.

You seemed to have changed some notes and a few other things. Are they all intentional? Also at 2:01, did you start crossfading into your other camera view to conceal what you did in the LH? It's okay, I cheated there too. xD It's interesting that you say this is tougher than _Further_. I haven't tried _Further_ yet, but it seems to me that that is going to be much harder for me as compared to this one. How long did it take you to learn both these pieces? Anyways, not too in love with this one. I think you could play it a lot better than this. :) What would your next FF cover be? I hope you keep doing FF, haha. I'll keep coming back to watch. FF fan here, as you already know.
@KaraComparetto8 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeremy! Sorry it took me a while! Any note changes you noticed were probably what I had on the page. I noticed that all the other arrangements I've seen have a really cool harmony that happens at the very beginning (2nd measure I think?), but mine did not have it :( The part you're talking about with the LH, I must say I made a few mistakes in the piece, but I don't remember that being one of them! I think what you're referring to is the 16th notes in the LH. My understanding of that part is not for it to be completely accurate anyway, but to sound more like a drum roll, almost more of a rhythm than exact notes. I really think you should try Further. Maybe you are worried about the triplets in that one spot? Don't be. You can do it. And if you simply can't, then I would just leave out some notes. XD I do it all the time. I would rather be able to play something ALMOST exact, than not play it at all! :) It took me about 2-3 weeks for both. I know that if I had spent significantly more time on either one, i could've done better. But I'm not necessarily looking for perfection. Concert pianists practice hours upon hours a day, for months at a time on just one concert program. That sounds so boring to me! haha. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment!
@jeremyngpiano8 жыл бұрын
Kara Comparetto Hmm.. I'm starting to get really curious about this. Do you mind sending me the arrangement that you have? I've never seen anyone play it with those note changes you made. "I think what you're referring to is the 16th notes in the LH." >> Nope, I'm referring to an 8th note just before the 16th note motif. Your thumb should have gone all the way up to the tenth instead of just an octave (which is what I did too). My "excuse" would be a combination of having small hands and a little of laziness, haha. It's a subtle difference, and probably sounds the same to the layman, but if you can do it, the 10th harmony there sounds a little more epic. It's subtle but definitely noticeable. "Maybe you are worried about the triplets in that one spot?" >> No, I'm worried about several other things, haha. But you're probably right though, I'm sure I can do it eventually. I thought I couldn't do a lot of the stuff that I've recorded, but still ended up with a satisfactory video at the end anyway. Thanks for your reply! I take it that your next FF cover is a secret. :D I just have 2 more to record before I release my 2nd FF album, yay.
@KaraComparetto8 жыл бұрын
I only have the sheet music but not the link. My brother sent me the link and I don't know what happened to it haha. But I could take a screen shot and send it to your email or something? Ah yes yes yes, sorry you're right, the LH jumps. I didn't do those but I didn't feel any guilt, maybe that's why I had no idea what you were talking about LOL! The harmonies would most likely make it better, but I didn't want to compromise the speed or clarity of that part, so I decided to leave it out. I think that's probably why you did too! Can't wait to see your next cover as well!

I Just need to say! congrats! this is lovely to hear and see that game score pieces can reach a very good attention and quality for be considered classical out erudit music. I've just saw your piece for One-Winged Angel and seems to me (a mere classical music auditioner and a quitter guitar amateur) flawless. Nobuo is for me a icon for what music can reach from a 8-bit game Melody to a Orquestra-piece art in the hands of good musicians like you've just showed us. I really don't know how to say much but that's a great experience to see you, that never played the game as you putted on the One-Winged description, interpret that two nice and rememberable score piece from a very good piece of story (for me, the best) of the VII game with Cloud, Aeris and Sephiroth. By the way, just in off, you could resemble Aeris (hehehehehe). Maybe she would looked like you if remaked for today's level of computer character design. Keep up with that good work. Wish you many conquests and success for all time. Bless and Peace.

I can hear Bahamut being summoned @ the 1:58 mark, about to rain down death and destruction.

Again. Wow. Just wow. This one of my most favorite ff fighting themes. Next to all of ff4 . She killed it. Awesome.

I must send 100 hearts for this song and your performance

I like it. It's a bit faster than the other musicians, but it fits the song. Thank you.

You play this wonderfully. Before I knew it was written in the music, I always thought that 0:15 was always the pianist making a mistake. But I know it's written this way. Again, you play incredibly well--I just think it's rather odd sounding.

Hahaha yes the little "ornament" there- it's almost like a little bee sting XD but totally intentional! Thank you so much for watching

I'm so glad KZbin recommendations are useful now! I love how you played one of the most difficult songs in the game. I also loved your One Winged Angel video. But you still need to play Clash on the Big Bridge! I'm sure a lot of people have requested that one already. Keep up the good work and have a nice day! :)

Ah your'e right I do! And I have had many request it. Which game is that from?

Kara Comparetto Final Fantasy V, but has a lot of remixes (XII, Dissidia, XIV, XV...). Gilgamesh is a very iconic villain :)
