The axle nuts were hard for you to get off because you didn't pry out the metal locking plate that gets hammered around the axle nut after you install it.

looks like you left the axle nut lock plate in there hence the diffculty of removing the cv axle bolt on your hub side... its a wierd piece to get out .. screw driver n needle nose pliers ect.. sure its long since been sorted

i've never seen the autolift 3000 before - pretty cool. Looks like you could easily get the front of the car up high enough to drop the motor out the bottom. Always feels sketchy to go max height on jack stands and it's still never quite enough for this move.
@ThoseCarDudes6 жыл бұрын
That's right, it goes really high! I had my doubts at first, but learning to like it a lot! So much more room to NOT hit your head on everything haha.
@DaytonCarCare5 жыл бұрын
No need to remove the CV axles and dif. Just unbolt driveshaft from dif and drop it with it still bolted to the subframe.

QUESTION please: did you remove those nasty rubber subframe bushings after dropping the assembly down. I am trying to replace the bushings in my car and they are in so Friggin tight. Any ideas ? Thanks !
@ThoseCarDudes4 жыл бұрын
Yes, we had to remove the subframe to get the bushings out. Hope that helps!
@olliebeattie7574 жыл бұрын
Just had the exact same situation with the subframe sticking in after all bolts removed, what a wig out hey!

Hey mate, where did you get that lift?? Supercheap auto?? I've been looking something like that but no luck. I'm based in Auckland as well (North Shore though). Cheers!
@EricNomads76 жыл бұрын
You don’t haaaave to take the axles out. I left mine on when I removed my subframe, just take off the bolts securing them to the diff. Just a tip for those that don’t want to deal with the axle nut.
@ThoseCarDudes6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that! We removed them because we want to replace the rubber boots, forgot to mention in the video.
@dsgant16165 жыл бұрын
To be clear, you’re saying I can leave the axels in the wheels- just remove the Allen bolts from the diff and then remove everything else they removed in this video?
@blakesirois98324 жыл бұрын
3:15 you can see em in there.. howevere with those off that nut can be real stubborn still
@snoobabs16 жыл бұрын
Did you remember to take the retainer collars out from around the hub nuts? If not, no heat will save you... been there 😉
@ThoseCarDudes6 жыл бұрын
Yeah we did, forgot to mention that in the video, oops!
@snoobabs16 жыл бұрын
Hahaha, yeah, sometimes when the rust is bad you can't even see that they're in there! They actually work too well...
@paulclark88915 жыл бұрын
You left the retraining collars in at first 😀

Wrong all wrong just drop the complete rear end remove diff bolt and shock bolts .two subframe bolts and plates that have allen keys then the four tailshaft bolts hand brake cables from inside the car 4 nuts there and brake lines and your done

Could you by chance help walk me trough this tactic? I need to replace my brake lines and need the subframe out of the way to get to the T junction. I’m very new to all of this and any shortcuts- I’m all ears!

Lol, next time push/hit the two subframe bols to the inside with a hammer ;-) Makes it much easier.
