Frankly, I think you two could just hop on a flight to Canada and find a relatively affordable used van for sale. It doesn’t have to be a shiny new specimen of German engineering. It’s about the journey and personalities, the van is secondary.

Canadian here (who lives in the UK). Not quite so simple. Canada has laws about having a permanent residence to attach the van insurance to. We’ve been looking at exactly thjs idea. Need to find a province they would let it happen.

Highly unlikely that the van was stolen as the dealership would have checked. The VRN is clearly shown on the video so anybody could do a search to see if it's reported stolen. Plus a quick search online will show you what is highly likely the same van, currently for sale in the South of England. I would guess financial issues forced postponement of any trip, which is rubbish news for them.

It's inevitable that people will speculate about what has happened. Some people will have accidentally hit the nail on the head, others will be wide off the mark. I had a few ideas of my own which I won't divulge. The VW has gone which is pretty vague. All I will say is that the world is shrinking for travellers, with all modes of transport. The big plan is that we all stay at home and live our lives through screens. You have gone against the grain in that respect, and I applaud you for it. You have been to some dodgy places and have not showed the downsides of them. We are in a time of transition, and not for the better. Personal responsibility needs to be embraced by every one of us as we weave our way through the obstacles put in our path. Take time to reflect. Better times will come. I am not religious by the way. You will get through this. We had a setback where we were buying a brand new house and the build was delayed for 10 months and we had sold our old house, so were basically homeless. We got through it without any blame or frustration being projected onto each other or anyone else. Like you, we just gritted our teeth and rode it out. Sorry that for now things are on hold. I have this struggle with the universe all the time. There are 2 choices. Is the universe putting these things in the way to show me I shouldn't be doing it? Or is the universe saying I'm putting all these things in your way to prove that you can overcome them? That is the struggle. The choice is ours. It does seem to me that when anyone goes outside the norm, if there is such a thing, that an amazing amount of things are put in our way to overcome. Good luck with your choices. Honestly this might work out better for you. there are loads of vanlife vlogs now - I think your USP is travelling as vegans, the accommodation is less important. I enjoy seeing the food you cook and the places you find to eat. Plenty of others have done the USA vanlife thing but this could set your channel apart.

Oh dear. Don’t give up hope. Things will improve, even though it probably feels hopeless now. I don’t know what the issue was, but you will overcome this hurdle and life will take a different path. Well just hope you didn't loose any money. I wondered whether the van might be stolen or that someone has become ill. Either way for what it is worth I feel the universe is telling you not to travel to America at this time. Just my thoughts.
