You are in for a ride. This is a great series. I will say that the transition from Jordan to Sanderson is very jarring, to say the least.

Is the language/prose of the book easy and accessible?

Yep absolutely - Robert Jordan is a bit wordy at times (he spends a lot of time describing scenes, which I enjoyed but some readers don't love), but the language itself is very clear and straightforward
