i don't want to spoil anything and even with Oathbringer there's so many questions that need answers, but: everything that Brandon writes has a purpose... i think it's great how Brandon talks about religion with him beeing mormon and i think not enough ppl talk about how mental health is a big part of the series!!! Jashna is so badass!!! Hoid is my boi... he's litterly the best!!!

Sanderson is Mormon? I didn't know, but finally, a reason to give up reading his books! *whew*

Words of Radiance is top notch! And the easter eggs with his other Cosmere works are just 🤯🤯🤯🤯

I have a feeling Words of Radiance will be a book you will absolutely love (and read a lot faster as well). Don't worry, I'm entirely caught up with the Cosmere and I have a lot of questions. That's part of the fun in reading SA as the books are still being released. I get to read theories and predictions and in the end only Sanderson knows everything. I'm curious on how you will see each character after the next books, because I think they evolve and change and we learn a lot about them that they feel so alive and real. This is my favourite series and I'm excited you liked the first one

The channel Captured in Words has a really good summary of this book. It was nice to watch after finishing and it is great to review prior to starting Words of Radience. (Also, the audiobooks for this series is awesome) I did a Sanderson deep dive last year and read 13 of his books. I loved them all, but SA is just...so much.

Love The Way Of Kings but Words of Radiance I read that book over a year ago and I STILL think about it.... awesome book!!! Awesome series can't wait till the 4th one comes out 😁😁😁

I'm so glad you are starting this series! The one thing I will say is that it will benefit you to not wait too long before you dive into Words of Radiance, as the fine details will be easier to remember. Hoid is present in every corner novel. Not always by name, but he is present in each. Look for the one information giver, and it is usually him. And I agree, Hoid is a DELICIOUS SNACC!!!

I binged all the books in the series, and Words of Radiance is my favorite so far (Shallan's arc was so good). I loved the Spren, and I think you'll like them more in the future! Also, don't hesitate to read Edgedancer before Oathbringer, it will make more sense. I need to finish Mistborn and Brandon's other books 😁

Hi, love that you're getting into this series. It's one of my favorites and I like seeing others fall in love with it as well. Suggestion -> the audiobooks are great so you should give them a try, maybe it makes going through them faster(plus there are some scenes that are just amazing read out loud.)

I think you'll really enjoy Words of Radiance when you get around to it. However I can honestly say that I struggled with the first two thirds of Oathbringer and worried I would DNF, but the last third suddenly sped up and was just brilliant (so if you do struggle at the start, push on through because it's well worth it).

I'm so happy you read this! Stormlight is my all time fave series!! And some characters from warbreaker might pop up in WoR/Oathbringer. And I love all your theories :) And you get Shallan's flashbacks in WoR which are WILD haha Also the love for Jasnah

I read this books years ago when it first came out. The problem with tomes and epic 10 book long series is that once you get off the carousel of one book, the wait for the next book can diminish the desire to get on the carousel again. Hopefully, will start again. I'll re read way of kings and then plunge into oathbringer. P. S. I re read way of kings twice. I regret nothing.

I’ve reread them each time a new book was coming out. I’m doing so now to get ready for book 4. They’re so good. Sanderson has said that when he writes a character and their religion, he wants the reader to assume his religion is that of the character. He wants you to assume he’s an atheist if he’s writing an atheist. I think that’s amazing considering that he’s mormon. You’re going to love the next book
@ThoughtsOnTomes4 жыл бұрын
oh that's so interesting with how he writes religion!

Yes! Spren is a MAJOR MAJOR thing in Rhythm of War (Book 4).

I still need to pick up Elantris and Warbreaker. I loved Way of Kings and I can't wait to read the other books to catch up before Rhythm of War comes out. The Spren seemed strange and annoying to me at first as well. Kaladin is great, and I agree with you on the similarities with Kelsier, and I love them both!

I definitely agree on the crab scene. I'm used to violent/gruesome death (edit: and torture) of innocents in books and media, but torturing animals is just a hard no for me and I just hope it won't be much of a thing in the next book(s)

Jasnah is THE BEST. I'm really pleased with how Sanderson works with her as a character, because I think he could have handled her differently with his religious beliefs.

Hoid pops up all over Cosmere series. Sometimes"disguised" as other characters. He was in Mistborn as well! My favorite thing about Cosmere books now is playing "Where's Hoid" 😂 but I had no idea about Hoid when I read this series because Stormlight was my intro to the Cosmere!
