Yeah, he does mean it platonically haha, it's basically like saying "we're bros". As another example, say you went over to your friend's house to eat dinner and you're like "thanks for the food Mrs. and Mr. Shen" and they respond with "don't be silly, you can come here for dinner any time, you're practically family".

​@@Happibess Late answer: In the 3rd novel when given the choice to present SQ as a relative or a sweatheart to the dressmaker ( he wanted to disguise him as a woman ), YWS choose "sweetheart" aka lover. So no, there is nothing platonic about YWS mind at all.

It is something the donghua team created. IIRC, it's not mentioned in the novel. I can't remember where, but I thought YWS didn't like wearing accessories, so even the necklace he's wearing is donghua-only.
