Only the laws of Noah (Gen 8-9) apply to both Jews and Gentiles. Just like we, as as humans, often go to our earlhly mothers to help us closer to our dads. We as Catholics have not and do not worship Mary . As Catholics, we absolutely agree that adoration is due to God alone and that idolatry is a grave sin. However, I believe Catholic teaching on Mary and the saints is more nuanced than you may realize. First, Catholics do not worship Mary as we worship God. We honor and venerate her, but all our worship and prayer is directed to God. The Catechism clearly distinguishes between adoration (latria) given to God alone, and veneration (dulia) given to saints and honor (hyperdulia) given to Mary. That said, we do believe Mary has a unique role in salvation history that is worthy of honor. She is the Mother of God (Theotokos), which highlights the truth of the Incarnation - that Jesus is true God and true man. This title was defined at the Council of Ephesus in 431 AD. In terms of biblical typology, the early Church saw Mary as the New Eve. Just as Eve participated in the fall by her disobedience, Mary participates in redemption by her obedience, her "fiat." Mary is also seen as the Ark of the New Covenant. Like the Ark held God's word on stone tablets, Mary held the Word made flesh in her womb. The same Greek word is used for God's presence "overshadowing" the Ark and Mary. And just as David leapt and danced before the Ark, John the Baptist leapt in Elizabeth's womb at Mary's visitation. Regarding prayer, Catholics believe that death does not sever the bonds of the Body of Christ. Those in heaven are more alive than we are and are united with us in offering prayer to God. However, there is a fine line between respect/adoration and idolatry and i think it's important that we know how to make that distinction. @@Buddy_Wolfe I spent the last 20 years dedicated to Truth, God and improving, after my father destroyed my life, I was in pain and misery begging God, Mary spoke to me, my mind was now expanded, I was speaking to God, I was trained to be a holy person for 6 months, I could see blessings and curses, I was taught lessons, it was hard, it was like a Bible story, I had to command angels, Jesus was there, I now know the Truth about Jesus and his lack of evidence for the bible, I need help so I can spread the truth far and wide, no one can have the truth about God, except me, everyone else just reads the book

Are you saying that people just read, and don't apply the Bible to their lives? also Jesus and the lack of evidence for the Bible? There are still things being found today, that can prove parts of the Bible, as in Archeology.

@@Buddy_Wolfe I can't get help, society does not want to help a good person, its been brutal I was put into 'games' where i had to battle demons, command angels, I had a mind interface, Arch angel michael was the main warrior no one believes the bible, as it contains many mistruths, no one can follow the treachery I am not well and mental powers are lacking, I was given a greater mind that corrects me, as I did not make decisions , I should have tried harder to solve the problems my family created, but doctors wrecked my life and won't help Jesus Christ did not exist, I know that now, the Powerful being behind reality determined the world needed a figure to pick, if I could have become as powerful I would have, the greater being cannot make me Jesus

Been there 2 weeks ago. Before that in 2022 and 2014. And even before when I was a child with my parents, more than 40 years ago. I can assure you, even if you are not a catholic, the site has a positive energy you can feel, and I feel at peace with myself. You can visit all year around, in fact I prefer out of the main dates ( May 13 and October 13 ) as accomodation is cheaper and easy to find ( the city main economy is from religious tourism ). Besides that is a lovely little village 1 hour away from Lisbon, 2 days is enough to visit everything but if you have time there are plenty of beatiful historical medieval cities nearby like Obidos, Batalha, Tomar, Leiria, Ourem, etc.
