Thousands of asylum seekers waiting in streets, makeshift camps around Paris

After an asylum seekers’ camp in northern Paris was cleared last November, France plans to continue to break up others across the country. Although the number of places in shelters has doubled, with over 108,000 beds available for asylum seekers, makeshift camps are still scattered around the capital's ring road, where several thousand people are living in squalid conditions. I agree, I came legally to the UK from a poor eastern Europe country 20 years ago. I was young woman with no money, and no English language. I had to manage without any support from the government. Nobody felt any sorry for me even though I was so vulnerable while being a woman in her early 20s. WTF is happening now? I have been working 6 days a week for most of these 20 years. It's not an overpopulation issue, it's political or economic instability of the countries they fled that is the issue. In some cases that does stem from religious fundamentalism getting control of a country which tends to lead to economic derailment, but definitely not about overpopulation. I’m sorry that these people came to our countries, but it would have been better if they had fought in their own countries for a better life like our men did in two world wars. Our men gave their lives to help others like these in their own countries and what a shame that they didn’t do the same. I’m not opposed to people who are in real fear of their lives - asylum seekers, but all these young men looking for an easy life, it’s not going to happen. We have to look after our own poverty, homelessness and those who have been let down badly by our own Government. These people need to be processed quickly and sent back if they don’t meet the requirements and are illegals.

But that's absolutely not true, afghans won't be deported to Afghanistan if they are no criminals. Very few migrants are deported back. In reality they are put in deportation centers and have to stay there.

The international asylum law countries were pressured to agree to needs to be done away with. Humanitarian groups do not run other countries. Economic hardship or wanting to live in another country is not a valid reason for asylum.

Some points to consider: 1. Asylum seeking from what? 2. Violent gangs forming in detention centres, these are the people seeking to gain entry. 3. Illegal entry should not guarantee acceptance into the country, regardless of length of detention. 4. There are those who have gained asylum under the guise that their lives were in danger, then go back to their country of origin for visits. Apparently the danger evaporates once given asylum status.
