The receding of the Dead Sea has caused thousands of sinkholes to form around its shores, turning resorts in Ein Gedi, Israel into ghost towns. Scientists say the descent is a result of human activity and natural changes, and that it is unstoppable “for the next hundred years”.

The size of these sink holes is enormous. You just can't tell where its periphery is and that is super dangerous. BTW, can they re-dehydrate the sea by channelling any other sea/water in?
@hanbyeol12
@hanbyeol12 2 жыл бұрын
They shouldn't Even as late as 1969, the Dead Sea was the saltiest body of water on Earth. The resources needed to move all that water will be disastrous to all the places it'll get water (presumably freshwater) from, and even if you got saltwater from the sea to fill up Dead Sea up again, you would need to build more things just to transport that water, which is much more harmful to the environment. For what? A tourist attraction?

3:17 nonono... Its not brutal. Its the truth. Since we humans exist on this planet, we leave destruction. Anywhere we step. We ruined the biorythm of Earth. We ARE ashamed of ourselves. Even if we don't say so...

Everything changes. Since we're partly to blame, don't point fingers. Reverse or move on.
@geminidemoncat1

we hv to reverse it. we cant just move on•. just like with climate change n whenvr we hurt ppl. with climate change, we hv to reverse it so we wont die. if we hurt ppl, we hv to apologize to them, make amends n change for the better. otherwise we will get bad karma. •this mentality (simply moving on after destroying something) *is* the reason we (humans) are in our current predicament (climate change) rn. this mentality *is* the problem. bc we were so used to destroying everything on our path instead of treading lightly. instead of taking the best course of action for everyone n everything involved, we only think abt ourselves n dgaf abt everyone n everything else. being selfish. only thinking abt how much money we can get, how to get as much money as possible. we bulldozed everything n then kept going, leaving behind a trail of destruction. n guess what that behavior led us to? disasters everywhere. now we're forced to reverse all the damages we've made on earth, lest we all die, n soon. we are made to pay a lump sum of karmic debts all at once, thanks to our own selfishness n lazyness before.

The dead sea might of lost a third of its surface. But water doesnt escape through the atmosphere. So while it may be concerning locally. Not that much of a big deal in the global scheme of things. The waters still here. Life will continue whether we make changes or not. Live each day
