Your shop's customizations of my SR325X cans are finally keeping them going past the 3-4 month mark! Maybe I just got unlucky twice, but the standard Grado non-detachable cable connection was a severe design flaw leading to product failure twice well before the initial 1-year manufacturer's warranty was completed. They also revealed strengths and weaknesses in my setup, prompting some changes. Cheers and have a good one!

Valves are from the good old days when my dad would send me to the radio shop to get a new one for the tv or the wireless, the fibre back was often off the back of the tv so we could look for the valve that was not glowing, all so that we could watch Z cars on the tiny screen, i don't think the passion for the valve sound will ever die out

Thinking about it TVs must have been incredible pieces of technology when they cable out. I remember thinking CDs were crazy - lasers and digital to analogue converters in the early 80s seemed ahead of it's time

When I hear Valve I think of water valves, engine valves, gas valves, the game company (Valve Corp), etc. But Vacuum tubes only really remind me of one thing, so I like to call them that. Fosi makes lots of good products, and I like that they try to make things affordable too. I'd love to have one.

Valves, Tubes, lamps, not sure on the lamp part, but all the same, you really should give a try to a proper valve headphone amp, the little buffer variety are OK to play with, have a few myself, but they are nothing like a proper tube amp. Xduo make a couple OTL head amps, of course there are better, but they offer a good starting point for a proper representation of the sound! BTW, love your vids! Don't need the little fellow, no sob story from me but I'm sure someone will enjoy!!

I like it, cool dac amp. Does the volume control and/or tone controls also control the RCA output or does it output at a fixed level?
@CustomCansАй бұрын
I did not play with the tone controls but the volume does vary the output from the RCAs - you have to turn it up to close to max to get line level out of it. I will stick your name in the hat

I just lost my lego house in a trip and fall situation (probably because i don’t have both legs), the amp will help me rebuild. I will use it as a brick that i can plug into for music. Hopefully it can withstand the weight of the new lego house. 😅 I swear it’s not a sob story. Just a bit of fun

It is pretty sturdy and if you modify the house do there are holes in the bottom vor the valves will keep the lego occupants toasty and warm. I will stick your name in the hat

the "tubes" are just used for a buffer like a 6J1 the is commonly used in this one 6A2, but there not doing much. just giving some 2nd harmics, Since that higher it will more sound more warmer to the human ear. a trasistor can sound very shill and cold since they have a lessen 2nd harmonics. But yea there not doing much there more for show. I have build my own my own OTL tube amps for higher impendance headphone (let say higher then 150 ohm( planar won't work)
@CustomCansАй бұрын
I thought that may be the case

@@CustomCans what some even do it just not use them, a friend of mine came in to roll tubes but they worked without the tubes. So what the company had done was just hooked up the filamant voltage(+-6.3v nominal) hens the the first number 6. but yea they didn't even bother with the cathode anode and screengrid. a tube has just more distorion in general but that can makes them so pleasing to listen to since it give them a "natrual timbre" then a "clinical" one that you can have on tranny's specaily the really tranny's from the 60's are harsh sounding. sorry fo going down the rabit hole :)
