This is amazing! I'm really excited to see where you can go with this. Getting a bit more sub-bass on them (and getting them close to the arya organic like you said) with a simple grill mod would be great!

I'm really excited for these because I have the edition xs and I suspect the arya organic would be an endgame headphone for me personally. If the grills are anywhere near reasonably priced i will probably buy them immediately XD.

They are not quite there yet but hopefully with a bit more tweaking I should be able to get a bit of extra goodness out of them

If the best sounding grill prototype is ugly, I wouldn't worry too much. You can possibly use the ugliest parts as a feature, by a combination of grooves (visible from the outside, but not going through the whole thickness) and colours to make your own design. Looking at the cables I got from you, talent is not something you miss. I'm sure the "ugly" parts can become the main aesthetic feature of the grills, if not of the whole set of cans.

Yes, nothing is finalized yet, still a bit more prototyping and testing to go so not 100% sure how they will look when they are done.

New watcher here as been looking at some new over ears as my old favourites sadly died recently. Very interested in the Himan cans, not had any planar magnetics before. They sound interesting. Have you thought about taking a look at the Deva Pro's? The ability to run as wireless with LDAC support and the module also being a USB-C DAC and AMP with balanced output really appeals to me.

Maybe you could try different pads to help with the desired result? What happened to the Philips x2hr project? I'd like to see some update on that one. Also the Sennheiser hd 560s is one of the best value headphones that came out in recent years. I'm under the impression it sold (and is selling) well. Hifiman Sundara is also considered a great value (some say the best) in the Hifiman range. Those 3 would be my suggestions as they're very popular and not too expensive so i have the feeling a lot of people have them.

Yes ... Good ides. especially as I have the X2HR and sundara here to play with. I have not tried the HD560 but I will try to get some of those as well. If they share a driver with the 490 the same mod may work on both

Yes... the amp... The plan was to get a big batch of them made and we never seem to have quite enough money to hit go on it. We may get 10 or 20 made as a trial - we will lose money on a batch that size but it would be a good way to test the market and get some feedback on it.

Do you know how to switch a ananda headphone jack. Its not the cable thats broken but the right driver. I think its not the driver but the headphone jack. Maybe a cable is not attached, do you know if repairing it is possible?

Yes it should be possible - I would probably open it up and check the cables 1st then use a multimetr to check the driver - if the driver is working then you will have to hunt around for a similar socket and replace it

No it will not work with the Arya, they have a different driver layout so it won't work with them. They are pretty good already though ;)
