I had the ceranado c208 for years now. It was a nice plane to fly, but they just dont update there planes a lot. Thx for developing a better and more in-depth version of one of my favorite Turboprop's.

Love this plane, love the modeling done for cargo variants, arrangement of seats in the passenger version, and the ability to change everything that has to do with the livery, including the “dirtiness” of the airplane. Would love to see 2 additional things, maybe in the future that would take this plane to the next level: wear and tear of (1) the dirtiness, so it gradually becomes more dirty, not just a setting that you have to input; wear and tear of components that need to be maintained. I know it’s a lot to ask for a plane that is already great, and I’m not in thankful AT ALL, love this plane. At the very least wanted to ask about gradual dirtiness as you use it, since dirtiness it already a variable that can be manipulated. I love the realism this plane brings, and ongoing maintenance that needs to be done to it as a result of flying it would be even more amazing. Thanks for this great developmentX and keep up the good work!

The amphibian is planned for the expansion pack, which isn't out yet.

You need persistence for airplane. So this feature will be really useful. And save battery charge, temp. ENG. etc.

In real life, when a pilot or crew closes one fuel valve to correct a fuel imbalance, many pilots will do something to serve as a reminder to open the valve again when the imbalance is corrected. The one I was taught and use is to put a checklist someplace noticeable but not usual such as between the throttle levers on a multi-engine or perhaps on the glare shield in front of the pilot on a single. It's very easy to forget about the closed fuel valve otherwise, and we don't want to create another imbalance by taking too much fuel from the originally heavy wing, making the other wing the heavy one! With a sim airplane, you'll have to get creative depending on what sim equipment you have. Maybe put a Post-it on your computer screen as your reminder or something like that. I'm sure looking forward to the G1000 add-on!

Most Caravans I have flown do not feed exactly evenly between the two tanks, even if you are flying coordinated. When you get to know the individual aircraft, you can slightly close the fuel selector for the tank that is draining faster to find the sweet spot where both tanks are feeding at the same rate. Are intermediate settings of the fuel selector possible on your model?

Oooh, good question! No, X-Plane simulates the fuel selectors as on/off, so intermediate positions aren't really possible. But I know exactly what you mean; of the real Caravans I fly, each is slightly different. One of them really likes feeding from the left tank, so we typically will fly on the right tank to build up an imbalance of ~50-100 lbs, then switch to the left for the rest of the flight. That seems to work out pretty well on our short flights.

@@josephnoe2956 yeah, I've done it that way as well, but I find it annoying. I have spent a lot of time in the 208 low altitude VFR in mountainous terrain, and I really like to be feeding from both tanks in that scenario!

These are maybe unimportant and/or unusable features, but they are just great and make the plane more alive. Chapeau! I bought the C208 of course....

Joe, you haven't really said much about it, but have you folks modeled system failures, especially those that might be somewhat unique to the Caravan? The fuel imbalance modeling looks superb, but for another example, a fuel controller failure on the real airplane will limit the engine to idle power unless you use the emergency power lever in place of the normal power lever. Using the emergency power lever makes it easier to over-torque or over-temp the engine, so must be used with care. Carenado didn't model the EPL at all, so for someone like me wanting realistic malfunctions to occasionally occur, their sim wasn't very useful. I'm hoping you folks modeled it. How about realistic icing flight characteristics such as tail plane stall from ice buildup? Other system malfunctions? I flew just a couple of hours in a real Caravan last year, and I'm thinking of applying for a job flying them for a Part 135 operation. I'm very interested in using your sim to get a head start on the training if I do, especially if it's realistic. Other aspiring real-life Caravan pilots or serious sim pilots would also be appreciative of knowing just what this sim airplane could do for them. Thanks!

Aloha, Joe, I was in Kona recently with my Cessna 172, and got some cockpit photos of Mokulele N865MA, which has the Aspen EFD-1000. I looked at the dynamic livery to change the default Mokulele tail number to N865MA, but doesn't seem to be a possibility. I think your default Mokulele plane N839MA is probably a G1000 bird. Is there a way to change the registration on the Mokulele plane to an Aspen equipped tail number that I'm not seeing? Also, N865MA has a digital clock, not analog, is there any chance you folks will add a digital clock to the instrument menu? And far more importantly, any new info on when your G1000 add-on will be ready? Your Caravan is pretty incredible, thank you for your efforts!

Aloha Scott! :) I'm jealous that you get to hang around the real Mokulele Caravans, haha. To edit a tail number on a static livery you'd need to use Photoshop (or similar) to edit the livery texture file directly. Dynamic liveries can have their tail numbers changed on the fly because it uses a different method to write/draw the tail number; it's not part of the livery texture itself. And the real N839MA is probably a G1000 plane, yes. That is possible now in our most recent update which adds the G1000 and seaplane versions (among other things). However, we didn't aim to exactly recreate any specific airframe, but just Caravans in general. So we probably won't add a digital clock to the instrument options. Thanks for your kind words! I'm even enjoying flying our Caravan around in X-Plane for fun in my spare time!

Joseph, how is the airplane in VR? buttons and levers are mapped? This is the only question I have preventing to make a purchase

Yep, buttons, levers, switches, etc. can be manipulated with the VR controllers! The popup menu can also be "popped up" in VR and then relocated by grabbing the top of the menu with the controller.

Congratulations on the new features. Very deep mechanics. Very funny video. Thanks for developing this aircraft with such great amount of work. Question: would it be possible to have bush flying missions? I think this would give more fun when flying the aircraft

Thanks! :) We don't currently have any plans for specific built-in bush missions, but we do think this plane is ideal for that sort of flying! I have also been having lots of fun flying our Caravan in my Air Hauler 2 company.

holy! I've just discovered your channel. What impressive addon. And what fantastic and instructional videos. As MSFS user I have to ask: is there any possibility you consider to port this awesome plane to MSFS? In the long story of FS we have never had a truly living and deep Caravan like this one.

Thanks for the kind words! We at Thranda are committed to X-Plane, so we'll be sticking with X-Plane 11 and 12 for the future.
