Thrasher's French Fries have been an Ocean City tradition for more than 90 years. They specialize in one item, and once item only.

I remember Thrashers as a kid. I remember them using balsamic vinegar though back in the day. Whatever they put on them, they are awesome.

No one in Britain uses apple cider vinegar, we use malt vinegar, at home. The chip shops use 'none brewed condiment' which people think is vinegar, but its not.

@@Amocoru tell that to a brit family who goes over, buys 3 buckets for the family, expecting brit like chips (fries as you call them) and then they proceed to eat them and they are disgusted by the flavour? that's $30 down the shitter. Or they might love them. But from my experience, apple cider vinegar is not used as a condiment here, cheers.

0:56 "Apple cider vinegar,that's an English tradition that's been going on for over 90 years" Nope,can honestly say I've never met anyone who puts Apple cider vvinegear on their chips/fries. Malt vinegar is commonly used. However,Apple cider sounds better,I must try asap.

@@jokerproduction "fresh cut" fries actually kinda suck if you have had REAL fries that have been soaked to remove the starch. the outside burns from the starch before the centers even get fully cooked. fries need to be cooked at least twice, not once. they need to be parcooked first at low temp to actually cook the potato first, then fully cooled (ideally frozen but not necessary) and then fried again at high temp to crisp the outside. five guys has the absolute worst fries of anyone. trashers is better because they dont let their friends burn in the oil (but can be hit or miss still) like five guys but there is still a lot of room for improvement. cutting a potato and immediately dumping it in oil isnt the way to make fries.
@jokerproduction
@jokerproduction Жыл бұрын
@Acolis five guys fries are fantastic and they 100% rinse the starch off and double fry them. They have special sinks that tumble the fries around to rinse that starch off too so no idea what you're basing any of your nonsense on.

@@jokerproduction i have literally watched five guys cut potatoes with the little press thing and immediately drop them in hot oil without rinsing them, resulting in burnt, brown, halfcooked fries.

I'd really like to see what would happen to those lines if a true Belgian Friterie opened up in the next space. Yes, most wouldn't be impressed by the sauces, but when have you ever had fries cooked in pure beef tallow? /watch?v=HW4dmXrrwIY McDonald's used to cook their fries in a similar manner, but changed their recipe due to health concerns -- /watch?v=Fo7vZm9a2To Though, I'd like to try this successful street vendor's fries -- /watch?v=Fpny0WP8sYw
