117 engine is interesting in many aspects… i have 462 se cam with a pipe and, how it accelerates up until around 90-100 is different from other harleys. Kinda smooth sports cruiser. Dunno. Actually surprised that ST can pretty keep up close.

Yep my 114 ran 11.214 @ 119 with just a ward performance 475 cam and a Dan moto exhaust. Made 119 hp and 130tq the new m8s are way easier to make faster

I wanted the HiCom Dyna but in my heart I knew that the ST would take it off the line. Nice to see all the engine work paid off on the high end. Dig it.

Totally what I would have expected. Also the M8 has a fatter tire which helps it off the line. Roll-on would show even more for the M8 to start but the HP doesn't climb like that on the Dyna.

Lot of fun. My 2002 FXDL Dyna with a stage IV has 107hp and 162nm tq. Bad TQ dip thou around the 2000 to 3000 rpm. Guess my cheap DanMoto 2in1 exhaust isnt helping there. Any tips for better exhaust system? But I brought the weight down to 263kg. That made a good difference with acceleration. Less weight also counts.

Stock 117 CVO to the wheel was 94hp, 110Torque. FXLRST weighs in at 720lbs. Dyna Street Bob was 670lbs. Yalls both around what 170lbs? Your Dyna's got the numbers advantage up top. But that stock standard M8 117 about had you beat. Now put a CR480 cam in that LRST with a set of slip-ons that got the right size thundertorque inserts. Dyna wont match up at all.

Peak Numbers mean nothing. Usuable power were it's needed is what counts. And who wants slips ons.. the header still has a cat and smaller diameter tubes. Just slap a full exhuast on there don't wast money. I've used dk torque insert they work great for increasing bottom end. But you will pay up top.

@@dormantmenace Actually the Headpipe and heads are pretty damn good for the M8. It's not like the Twincam was. M8 likes the higher velocity exhaust headers. Infact there's even some builds where they're making a lot of really good power with stock mufflers even. Someone riders with the power without the noise. The stock M8 Softail headers also have a crossover pipe for scavenging. So a set of slip-ons, that have a proper set of TTIs in them is really effective. I actually gained more top end pull with TTIs on my Eliminator 300s and the stock improved tune. You're only gonna "pay for it" if you're revving out beyond 6K which you only do on big inch builds with new heads anyways. My Fat Boy 114, does 80 to 130 in 14 seconds. 0-60 in 4. It pulls right up to 130. It's no slouch,

I like tricked out Dyna's and FXR's over tricked Softail's. I work in insurance and underwriting and early model Dyna's are about 70lbs lighter than new Softail's so a T-Sport with a built 95inch is going to grape a new 114 Softail.

I actually raced my 2019 Zx6r against my buddies 2017 fxdls 110 w intake, pipe, and tune and just barely lost . He had all that low end torque and my Zx6r doesn’t come alive until it’s doing like 75. By then he’s a bike length on me.
