Dante’s ability to go three cards deep with thrasios to fish for the answer to that pyroblast reminded me of how strong Thrasios is. Being able to always have mana up for interaction or a sink for you to dump it all in is honestly so powerful

Great video, game and edit! Just a critic about the narration: sometimes the voice goes loud out of nowhere, and it seems a little fake with the scripted reactions. Great job for whoever is doing this part now, I know how hard it is and naturalness comes with practice.

Feedback: I thought Higher sounded really good when I increased the speed to 1.25x.This might be a short-term solution while Higher learns to narrate this stuff at the pace of his predecessor (or, I suppose, a long-term solution if Higher doesn't wish to learn how to do that). It seems to me that the pace is the most important thing. As soon as I increased the speed to something resembling the usual pace, everything seemed "back to normal" and Higher's voice fit much more naturally.

If I can be a fan and a critic, I LOVE Ryan’s voice as the narrator for the videos. Higher is a cool guy and I appreciate seeing him make appearances on different channels and what not.. but Ryan is blessed with an announcer-like voice. And also Syr Carah doesn’t really seem like a cEDH commander.. anyways keep up the great work!

I've seen Syr Carah on this channel a few times now and each time I feel like it falls flat on its face :( I looked in the decklist and couldn't see a wincon. I saw snapcaster, but no twinflame or anything to copy it with? What is this deck trying to do?

It's honestly just a storm list, LED/Wheel/Underworld breach ends up being what I win with often, but being unlucky to begin with often plagues the deck. Hitting any "combo" piece way before the deck gets to value town really fucks it up. Sure I could make it better, but it's been fun and it's just been genuinely unlucky on the channel

Question about the glint-horn / malcolm combo -- if one opponent has sufficiently more life than the others, it shouldn't work, right? Whenever it's used or talked about I've only ever seen it be an instant win, but if I have 40 life and everyone else has 10 life, I can't be killed with just the glint-horn's damage.

you could deal 19 more damage after killing the two players at 10 life before getting to one treasure, so while technically yes, they couldnt kill you from forty, they could stop after generating 30 treasures and win the game with 30 treasures lol

Each activation costs 2 mana and generates 1 treasure per opponent still alive. The first 10 discards would be net +1 treasure each, then all subsequent ones (with you and the Malcolm player being the only ones left in the game) would be net -1. The Malcolm player could use those 10 treasures to bring you from 30 to 21 life (with 1 treasure left over), but would need more mana from other sources to continue.

When the Lightning bolt killed the Drannith when Cal try to go to endstep, doesn't that mean that when priority come back to him, he's still in main phase 2, letting him cast Prosper ? Or am I understanding it wrong ?

In the first game, how does he have enough cards in his library to kill all 3 opponents? I didn't count the cards in hand but he has to do 89 damage which means he has to draw that many cards. I didn't see anything in the decklist that would have protected him from milling himself out without moving to his 2nd main phase. Noxious revival is there but I didn't see any graveyard recursion, and nothing to give timetwister flash. Am I missing something?

Not sure I understand the harnfel/top loop. You tap top to draw a card then discard that card to activate harnfel and exile the top. So I get how he can dig through his deck this way but where is all the fast mana/dual caster/twinflame coming from? If they weren’t in his hand already the harnfel/top loop presumably wouldn’t let him keep all of those.

Syr Carah just can't catch a break! I think in 3 games I've seen it bolted 4 times. Then in this last game it failed to go off because of exiling 2 important and expensive cards, and then wasn't fast enough even with the runaway steam engine on the field. It's starting to look like a hard deck to win with.

I find the ... lively narration more distracting. I feel like it used to be more... clinical most the time, unless something really spicey happened. I would argue that cEDH players are the least salty players, but it can happen to anyone. I say that as someone who plays one of the highest salt score decks in cEDH-sometimes people get frustrated. Which is why I love it

Did I miss something? Cause the horn requires you to discard a card. It never lets you get another card in hand. So you can only discard all the card in your hand so see 2 times that many cards. Pretty sure he doesn’t win right away but he can gain a lot of value.

Higher isnt all that entertaining to listen to sadly. He certainly has a great voice, but he speaks too slowly and he's all over the place with his tone. He emphasizes things that dont need to be emphasized, some words and sentences don't flow smoothly and it generally feels like he was given a script, told to read it out loud and given no time to practice. He definitely has potential tho, he just needs more time to settle in.
