One Up should use your video!

The top cap is delicate and you’d have to really be careful to ensure the lock ring splines maintain contact with the cap when screwed on.
@ShreddingSpree2 жыл бұрын
You’re right. The cap is definitely delicate. I’d love to have deeper tool engagement
@GokkunGuru2 жыл бұрын
@@ShreddingSpree A deeper engagement would definitely be something OneUp should design for their next revision. The other option is go with their newest threadless carrier option, which is an easier install but that one doesn’t allow for the full EDC tool to fit. So yeah, this threaded steerer version is the best!

In the video you told that you weren't using a spacer above the stem (which they do not advise). How did it go? Did it held up? I actually dont want to drop my stack either if I would buy one, which is holding me from buying it right now. So I'm curious about your experience.
@ShreddingSpree3 жыл бұрын
Good question. It’s been working great. No issues. Make sure your stem is only a few millimeters higher than the top of your steerer tube so the cap can do it’s job and preload the bearings before you tighten up the stem pinch bolts. I think they might recommend the spacer on the top of the stem to ensure that someone doesn’t install the stem and cap in a way that only has the steerer tube 3/4 or 2/3 the way up through the stem. I could be wrong though, my install has worked flawlessly but do so at your own risk.

Looks easy and well explained. Definitely a job to do before you tip some cold ones. Somehow I would make this difficult. Doh!

I’ve done this job while consuming a beverage and it enhanced the experience. Just sayin.

@@ShreddingSpree I'd probably reverse the threads or something.

Is this tool comparable on the talon bike by giant
@ShreddingSpree3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jacob, I assume you meant compatible** with your Giant Talon (?) I believe it should work fine. Depending on the spec of your bike it looks like you should either have a rock shox or suntour fork. I don’t have experience with either one of those specific models so I don’t know for sure. I’d contact oneup to confirm the inner diameter of the steerer tube on your model fork is the right size.

@@AppleJack76 yeah, lol. There aren’t many trails around here that have sections I need to stop, look, and gather some courage to ride but that one definitely had me. 😂
