question pls internet people i have a rod that is 7mm and a die that is 6mm - will i be able to cut 6mm treads in it or does the rod have to be 6mm to start with?

Hi Mohsin. The rod will need to be turned down to 6mm before threading it with a die.

What cutting fluid did you use? I like Trefolex hd, mostly because of the slogan. "The thick fluid sticks to the tool".

Hi Matthew. For very light work, I use this: www.travers.com/product//ags-ta-2-metal-cutting-lubricant-81-002-025, because it doesn't make a mess. For everything else, I use this: www.travers.com/product/tap-magic-70016t-unsoluble-cutting-fluid-96-002-843
