Very helpful and informative, thank you! Also, I do the unfocusing my eyes thing too when I’m drawing! Never heard anyone else mention it lol

Very helpful thank you. I figured using one strand would be preferred for a smoother blend but I was unsure. I'm glad you mentioned it. I was hoping that wouldn't be the case as it would take longer lol but that's okay. Embroidery has taught me a great deal of patience already. I'd rather take my time then not be happy with the outcome as I'm investing quite a bit of time on it already. Thanks again.

I’m glad you found it helpful! I rarely use more than a single strand of thread in my work now, it just makes it so much easier to get the right details, but you are right it can’t take a long time to complete things this way ☺️

This was a great guide! Are you using just one thread of floss for this piece? If so, is that just personal preference, or does it lead to a more thorough blending?

Hi there! I’m so sorry I didn’t see this comment til now, but yes, I use 1 strand because I find it much easier to blend ☺️

What size needle do you prefer and any tips on making curves with a back stitch nice and round?

Great tutorial!! I don't think you really say, are you using just one thread? I tried this technique but was using 2 threads and found that I ended up with a lot of gaps where the fabric showed through. I am using light colors on a dark fabric so that seems like it might be hard to avoid, but I'm trying to minimize this effect as much as possible. Thanks for the video!

I like to just use 1 strand for thread painting. I think in general, but especially for light colours on dark backgrounds, you just need to keep building up layers of stitching until you've covered the fabric. Don't be afraid to overlap your stitches or go back over sections that look a little thin, just keep going til you're happy! ☺️

Because the fast motion was done on the subsequent rows of the same color, I wasn’t able to see where the needle was placed. Was it inside the other row, did it meet up/butt up against the needle holes of the first row...? Since this video is for beginners, that part of the video should have remained regular speed at least at the beginning of the same row of yellow.

Hi! The instructions for adding rows of the same colour are exactly the same as for blending between colours. The stitches should land in between the previous rows stitches and create a staggered edge. Hope that helps! ☺️

@@PurpleRoseEmbroidery what do you mean by a double layer? do you stick two pieces of fabric on top of eachother in the hoop?
