This is weird. and slightly cringy... 🙈 I don't like to show my face but this episode is more talk-heavy and less technical. For a while I was thinking about using a camera for sections where I have nothing technical to show... This video was also made several months ago and I'm still not sure if I should have uploaded it... So this is an experiment. Be kind plz.

Nice face reveal! A small observation: You should look straight at the camera more often when you're talking, your eyes are glued to the text pretty much the entire time. Loved the video nonetheless

@GregHib5 жыл бұрын
Or put the text directly under/above the camera lense
@seraphina9855 жыл бұрын
@@GregHib To make that work you do need to be a fairly good distance back from the camera and use zoom to make the subject appear closer when recording, of course this also requires using a rather large font size on the prompt display and only displaying a small amount of text at once. Basically the larger the angular size of whole display and camera unit is from the perspective of the reader the more obvious it will be to the viewer that they are not actually looking at the camera so to maintain the illusion you need to keep the unit far enough back to make the visible discrepancy between where their eye is actually focused and the camera as close to zero degrees as possible. Course this is a lot easier to pull off in a large television studio than it is in a small room, could still be done by shrinking the display unit though maybe using a small LCD like a tablet or phone rather than a computer monitor etc.

Threat modeling is a major factor when it comes to choosing the best convenient way to protect your data (or money in this case) When a person asks about a good secure messaging app or about either to use VPN or TOR We usually go through couple of question and we take our time understanding his situation and knowing his threat model Only then you can give him the right choices Ps: It was courage of you to show your face on youtube ❤️ and I’m really proud of u, my boy

It is super easy to protect your pass frase on paper... you just have to write them in any random order and apply some structure to it how to get the right oder. For example you could sort by a letter inside that word alphabeticly => Ra[i]nbow wa[l]let => on paper wallet Rainbow.

Good work with your on-camera appearance. Two quick points of feedback: 1. Look at the camera lens, not the camera screen. Or if you're reading your script, then move the script closer to the lens. 2. Sync your audio with your video better. Putting a clap - or other short and loud noise - in your recording somewhere to help you sync them better during editing.
@darkfire27035 жыл бұрын
Great video. Also as a suggestion, I think it would be really interesting to hear your thoughts on hardware security devices for encryption/authentication. I think that more ppl have the need for hardware PGP/2FA/... than for hardware crypto currency protection. I liked the format! One criticism though. It is very apparent that you read off a script a little bit offset to the camera or look at some other fixed point. I don't think it's bad, but at 1:45 you look into the camera until your eyes kinda snap back at 1:49. Maybe you can place the script/fixed point closer to the lens? Just an idea :)

I have a question! Suppose I lose my ledger but I have my word recovery phrase, I go buy a new ledger input the phrase and get my wallet back. doesn’t this mean ledger stores each private key belonging to the required word phrase? Basically ledger backup support is only possible if they have a database of ‘word phrase1’ = ‘private key1’ ? I’m not an expert on this so then again I could have some misunderstandings.....
@LiveOverflow5 жыл бұрын
No your phrase is literally the private key itself. The code on the ledger transforms that phrase to the usable crypto key

If you enter your password or passpharse on a ledger, your 'word' are sent for 'predictive-text'. Simple to reproduce. Enter your password and click the eye icon and type another charater. The password will show in the pretiction and you can even save it as a new word. Also applies to ALOT of app. Next is to see if it is sent over http or https to google translateé

What i would suggest (from a simple guy that knows almost anything) MALWARE/EXPLOIT a pin/2fa/ecc. for updating the firmware(and without recovery mode to skip the process) TAMPER you cannot charge and use the wallet at the same time (with a dedicated non-updatable isolated chip ) so no power consumption attack a tamper proof case so if you enter it, it destroys itself phisically(maybe with a second battery and a mesh that covers all the device internally?) EVEN IF someone dumps all the stuff of the device all it's encrypted with the pin if i say bullshit, im a newbie, i don't know how to program in python/java/ecc.... , i don't know math, i just started electronics with arduino .-.
