Chimpanzees are endangered due to a number of threats. These threats include their habitat being destroyed through logging, clear cutting, and devastating agricultural and mining practices, and the illegal poaching of animals for bushmeat. The Jane Goodall Institute works toward eliminating these threats in the fight to save this precious species.

Disgusting. What a shame what humans do to these animals. I just saw a jerk on utube showing a baby chimp in a car seat and in baby clothes. Like wtf. These poor animals need to be in the wild in their home but can’t bc of being killed and cutting down the forest. Such a shame

A hand for a problem that she caused via mass sterilization. When Jan goodnot decided to start saving them there were 2 million in the wild and she has been saving them for the past 50 years! Today there are 120,000 in the wild! Good job Jane.

I assume that guy in the clip was there to pick them up so he could take them to a sanctuary. If not then they all died within a few days since they all looked to have no energy because of no food intake. Hey, guy with your hand on the starving chimps back, did you take them to a sanctuary? They were obviously not pets. Please respond and tell us where you took them. You care enough to be in or to make this clip so what's up. I thought I saw a clip that had 4 of them in it and they said that 1 or 2 of them didn't make it, but 4 did survive.

Namespolicy isfornazia- Please list the names of these branches of of Christians that say it's ok to steal, hate black humans, make species extinct etc. etc. Please explain to us, since you say these groups are out there. Plus if their were branches that condoned your list of atrocities, the media would talk about them 24-7. The U.S. isn't perfect, but we don't blow each other up daily just because we have different beliefs. We have socially evolved as time has passed. The Japanese and the old school muslims treat women like shit to this day. No group of humans can claim perfection or too much moral superority over other groups or countrys. We still have a lot of improving to do as a species. We know for sure that every 360,000 years or so that a super valcano erupts and sends the planet into an ice age of considerable length, making this planet uninhabitable for humans. Would you welcome us as guests on your planet after seeing the way we treat the animals, our planet and each other. As an alien just passing by, I wouldn't.

Her study had nothing to do with the massive decrease in population. Same thing is happening to orangutans in Borneo. The issue is the African people are struggling to survive and the forest is full of money in the forms of lumber and clearing forest for plantations where chimps cant survive. Its tragic, short sighted and cruel but sadly not at all surprising.

Chimps and all apes are beautiful, innocent, and amazing creatures that have every right to live their lives. Without them, we have no rainforests. Without rainforests, we have no oxygen. Slowly we all die if we let animals become extinct. I know many commentators here are not college educated, but did at least learn some of this in high school or junior high I would imagine?!?! . Before making negative, ignorant, abusive and vile comments, keep in mind that you owe your existence to Mother Nature. Humans are the only species where, if extinct , would make earth healthier for every living creature. Over time, evolution will get rid of those not smart enough to embrace, appreciate , and learn to respect the earth and all of its inhabitants.

They need to be worried about the starving people and children instead of the animals those animals are meant to Live and Die in the wild
@repleed98
@repleed98 Жыл бұрын
Wrong. It's the responsibility of the parents to ensure the survival and well being of their children, not the responsibility of "they". As long as human activities harm wildlife it is our responsibility to fix it. Animals deserve representation and protection since. Humans have the agency and ability to represent themselves. I owe starving children in Africa absolutely nothing as long as their UN and tribal chiefs hoard all the food to resell it. In addition, the parents should be responsible for them. I do on the other hand owe something to wildlife conservation because I've inadvertently benefited from their habitat loss.

Monkeys have been around since time began and will continue to be! They talk about them being extinct as if there's few left but there's plenty Maybe numbers might be thin in a certain area but overall, losses in one area wouldn't even make a dent as far as overall population goes. Primates aren't indigenous to our country and it don't make any sense to me that people are willing to concern themselves with an animal a thousand or more miles away, rather than humans here in the U.S. where there's a lifetime of humanitarian work to do here! But they'd rather go to some 3rd world country and lay blame and push their hypocrisy & moralizing on starving people who kill animals for food. Like they're supposed to put animals first over human lives, which is ass backwards and stupid and might seem easy to people who have never starved a day in their whole life! If it came to a choice between my kids starving and a gorilla. He's gonna end up roasting over my fire with a rotisserie rod up his ass! I'd put up a sign that said, "Gorilla, it's what's for dinner" What we didn't eat, I'd give away.
@misterhot9163
@misterhot9163 2 жыл бұрын
Parts of your theory make sense, especially when it comes to people who are starving, along with significant population growth which infringes on primates inhabitants. Yet killing and massacring primates leaving their babies behind is not the answer. Providing education, and more sustainable solutions are urgently needed. Going from 1 million to 150,000 chimpanzees is an alarming decline.

Maybe if the African population would have some self restraint and not have 15 kids each they can't feed,t hey wouldn't feel the need to drive an entire continent's worth of wildlife to extinction.

If I may be so bold, it is against Christian belief to continually remind listeners to a theory held by scientists that man evolved from ape. "Closest Relative" should be denoted as only a distant relative in regards to similar physiology, similar organ functions and similar make-up such as eyesight. Many of you scientists, as well meaning as you would like to make others believe, should think about the "higher power" who created the entire universe (who I refer to as God), and consider when He saw what He had done, up to and after He finished creating the ape, incorporated His greatest creation, as a design change if you will, and created Man and Woman. Whether it was Adam and Eve or Hector and Steve as the first humans doesn't really matter.
@danfortin8429
@danfortin8429 8 жыл бұрын
+John Echterhoff WHAT do you mean Hector ? Steve? The first humans matter a great deal so what do you mean it doesn't matter? God created MAN in his (God's)own image that makes very important the first man who was Adam. Eve was an equally important creation for she was the very first woman. Countless points can be made about the significance of these 2 right up to today.

There is no god, never was a god and never will be a god except in the minds who need that belief. As far as I am concerned you religious types should refrain from pushing your primitive beliefs on to those of us who do not share them.
