Oddleaf - really like the sound of it - and the look of the cover! Any plans for a vinyl pressing?

Thanks for posting these new releases. Will be checking them out. This new Ebony Buckle album, HEARTS GET STARTED, sounds amazing. What a beautiful and refreshing voice! It has been a pleasure listening to her in Andy Glass' Solstice in recent times.

Barry , Thank you for your recommendations and posting this video. For me these are the most interesting videos. There is so much music available and we need a guide to find that next favorite artist and album. I am going to dive into your recommendations today!

Beardfish has several previous albums that are also well worth a listen. Thanks for the other recommendations!

Took a quick listen to the first track of the Beardfish CD you were talking about, It's nice, sounds like a meshing of Kansas with YES.

Barry......I will check these albums out. All 3. Starting right now. Thank you.
@christopher9152Ай бұрын
Thanks, I enjoyed this. More of this type of video would be great...there are many great newer (or older, little known) groups/albums out there, but it's not so easy to wade through the dross to find them.

Can't get Oddleaf on Tidal unfortunately, in Thailand so buying is very limited here.

I've listened to "Hearts Get Started" from start to finish twice now. I fell head over heels for it the first listen, and I love it even more now. Fantastic recommendation! Thank you very sincerely.
@paulwheeldon3075Ай бұрын
I’ve listened to the Beardfish album, primarily because the band includes one of the geezers from Big Big Train. I’m not totally convinced yet. More listens required. Never heard of Oddleaf. Your description intrigues me enough to go and seek it out, so in that respect, this video has done its job!
@Andrey_YurkoffАй бұрын
This is not their best. I’d say anything prior to this is stronger.

Many thanks for your recommendations. 'Tis been a bit of a dry spell for me in terms of exciting new releases but am particularly invigorated by Oddleaf wherein i have now purchased their album.

Barry, I love your channel. I love the way you critique music in a way that never occurred to me. I love the unboxing and your sharp wit. I remember when I discovered your channel. I binge watched it until I had seen every video. I will be checking out these three bands on KZbin or Spotify to see if I want to purchase. By the way, I think I was one of three people who loved Jethro Tulls A Passion Play! Not being from England I did not understand all the subtle nuances in references, but sonically I thought it was excellent.

Thanks Barry! I’m always looking for new stuff. Feel free to do more of these types of videos. Have listened to the Beardfish and I am warming to it. Not as good to me as they’re older stuff but still very good. I will check the other two out. Check out Actionfredag. My favorite listen lately. New Norwegian prog at it’s best imo. Proggy, heavy, jazzy, with a little Canterbury vibe - love it!

Back when i was a teenager lisening to whistle test and john peel there was a song in the sillyness of barns and barns fishheads . Prog stayed in the 70's. Remarkable music was done between 69 and 76. Enjoy it. Whatever musicians had in that era never resurfaced. Even with the musicicians of that era. Was 1977 by New Triunvirat prog's swan song? Well, Marillion until 87 were pretty good, but were they prog? Yes, they were.
