Nope. Goulash is one the most traditional Hungarian dishes, but has been accepted as a part of serbian cuisine for a ages...Especially at the northern parts of country, next to border, where’s hungarian minority.
@TheTrebinje0074 жыл бұрын
@@zeroelevend it's dish that is traditional for that Balkan region, not for some specific nation. You can call it gulash or chobanac or paprikash but basicaly it's same traditional meal in several countries in that region such as Hungary, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina... the word gulash mean shepperd or cattleman, while the word choban have the same meaning, so even it's name says it's come from village.
@zeroelevend4 жыл бұрын
Bro, the person above said - “goulash“. We’re not talking about how similar it could be with a serbian way of making it, i was just explaining that goulash is a hungarian word, so it could be traditionally strictly hungarian dish. As for paprikash, it’s a different plate, less thick and has a bit more waterish taste. Also, paprikash is often made with potatoes, while goulash never.

I may be biased because I am a Serb, but I have lived most of my life abroad and tasted food from everywhere and I have to say that Serbian food has it all! Geographically, Serbia is in a great location regarding food, is part of South-Eastern Europe with clear influences of Mediterranic, Germanic and Middle East flavours.

Back in the 70’s they used to come into Kohl’s food store in Bay View to do their meat shopping! The one brother would bring his young son with him and the little guy was such a joy! He would wait patiently for his “Lolly” treat at the end! I used to tell him that my grandmother always said if I was good I would get one for each hand, naturally he also got one for each hand! Looking at this video I have to wonder which one of these men he is now all grown up!

I absolutelly loved the video, specially the part he drinks Sljivovtza and says "Its so clean" because unlike other similarly strong drinks such as Vodka, Tequilla, Brandy´s, etc, Serbian Rakia (or Sljivovitza) is so sweet and so nice to drink despite having the same (otften even bigger) ammount of alcohol than the other mentioned drinks. You drink Serbian Rakia and you don´t feel how strong it is, soomething which can even be dangerous because people become unaware how much strong licour they drink already,

What I really love about living in the Midwestern US (Minnesota) is all the fantastic food from so many countries. If you can't make it to a restaurant, you can have food home delivered from many ethnic restaurants including Europe, Asia, Africa, Mexico and South America, Middle Eastern, etc. A foodie's paradise. Wisconsin is also fantastic for food, cheese and maple syrup. Not many people are aware of the amazing food in these "flyover" states, but we are, which also includes Native American specialties. Lots of great people and great food!
