I'm finding this book really hard to read, like there are sooo many character I cannot keep track of who is talking or what is happening, like I cannot follow the story at all, I'm only finding Maribella's side easy to read

First off, looooved the book!! Below are y thoughts. PS- I have a habit of over analyzing details, so let me know if this stuff doesn't make sense! PS IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS DONT READ MY COMMENT!! So my theory is that Katharine isn't a naturalist or poisoner (Obviously). She dug herself out of that hole and has a feisty attitude. I think after climbing out of the hole by sheer will and the deep seeded desire for revenge against Peityr, she has the war gift. It's super rare, but if I remember correctly previous Queens with the gift of Sight and War are killed off early. So her Mother gave the children to a different gift city to protect their actual gifts or to change the status of power from Poisoners to something else. Maybe Katharine has the gift of a Naturalist as well, but I don't think Sweetheart was her familiar. There's nothing definitive or clues as to how she was a naturalist except for sweetheart, but if you have a pet yourself, your pet probably wouldn't attack you after being with you for a few years due to them being comfortable around you. Next, obviously Mirabella is an elemental. There's no denying that. But with Arsinoe, I think she has dual gifts. She (Spoiler) is a Poisoner, but I think she also has the gift of Sight. Remember when she dreamed the vivid dream of the bear and then it came true? Quite odd if you ask me and too coincidental to just have "Happened". Yes there was foul play with the easy magic but I think Jules was ultimately able to defeat the bear herself because of her connection to it through the easy magic. Also, Jules obviously has a strong gift. I think she's a half sister somehow and she may "Cover" the Naturalist power. Her powers are too strong to not be related somehow. Not sure how, except maybe the triplets father snuck off during the Beltane ceremonies of previous Ascensions because Jules mother conceived Jules during the Beltane festival but never new who the father was. But fathers wouldn't have powers since they come from the mainland, so I'm not sure how she's related. Finally, has anyone thought about the triplets being switched to the proper cities where their powers lie? If you think about it, all of the cities protect and raise their respective queen but when you take into account the close friends of the queens (Jules to Arsinoe, Natalia to Katharine, etc.), they're protecting and training the wrong queens for their cities. How will Natalia feel when she realizes that in order for her to stay in power, Katharine, who she basically raised herself, will have to be killed by the true poisoner? (Arsinoe, who she does not like at all btw.) The cities don't really mingle except for when it comes time for punishing for crimes or the Beltane festivals, so this is a whole new ballgame being introduced. So, if my theories are correct, which I don't count on them all being correct, then all 5 powers of Poisoner (Arsinoe), Elemental (Mirabella), Naturalist (Jules), War (Katharine), and sight (Arsinoe) are in play. Personall, I don't think there's going to only be one queen. The sisters care about each other too much and were too close when they were younger to kill each other off. Finally, I think Peitry is power hungry. I think Peityr sent Arsinoe the poisoned chocolates and he also pushed Katharine into the Breccia Domain. Or the high preistess sent Arsinoe the poisoned chocolates since she wasn't able to kill her in the tent after her returning from the island. So many different scenarios that could play out!! So excited for the next book! :)

I am currently 20 pages in this book and so far I am liking it. I am also reading the audio book and I feel as if this is the type of book where you really can't multitask with. you kinda have to sit down and pay attention with this novel.

I loved this books so much! 👑👑👑 also, I listened to the audio book, and Katharine's name was pronounced Kat-er-een which is weird because it's basically Katherine. I loved all of the names in this book!

First I liked Katharine's world.. then in the middle I liked Mirabella's and then Arsinoe's.. kept switching..😂 But Mirabella as a character was my favorite but the world..I liked the poisoner's- Greavesdrake.

I think I'm rooting for Mirabella but I agree that Katharine has a really great story arc and I'm wondering SPOILERS If her gift developed after she was pushed. Also that ending just wow! I actually hope that all the sisters find a way to unite and maybe one rules or all of them rule together. The whole Jules-Joseph-Mirabella thing, I have to say I just never really liked Jules. I did like Mirabella and how she met Joseph although I was thinking you have a girlfriend. However as the story progressed I kind of found myself really shipping Mirabella and Joseph. I might totally be on the wrong ship on this one but it's where I fall.

Every time I read Katherine's part, I imagine Katherine from the Vampire Diaries 😂 and it's fitting at times. The love triangle is a little weird because I feel Mirabella and Joseph's attraction is very superficial so far. Also, PLOT TWIST AT THE END. I saw it coming, did you? I could tell from Katherine and her snake, and also Arsinoe's name...Arsinoe...Arsin?? Haha, l really enjoyed this book.
