The trouble with most covers is that they lack the emotion that´s presented in the original song, or it feels totally different. I love how Jonathan Young makes a cover awsome by doing it his own way while still delivering as much of the same emotions as the original. That´s why he is one of very few cover artists that I listen to regularly. Amazing job!

i agree. there are some linkin park songs that he did really good at, but johnathan's scream doesnt hit the same as chester's. and here we are in this song, where he gets to that part "even if i say..." he's doing a controlled scream/sing. it doesnt hit the same as the original. on the other hand, when he did the titanic song, that shit hits perfect. he really sounds like he lost the love of his life and he's pushing his whole ass emotional state into the microphone. that one worked great.

Try not to compare covers to the original so much. The original will always be amazing, however, this is a cover. Look at it as its own thing rather than an imitation. Once you get passed that, you can really appreciate how good the cover actually is. I find it really well done, and I also feel like he really threw his heart into it. I actually began to cry listening to this cover. It has been a long time but back in high school I used to blare this album in my room and contemplate whether or not life had any meaning and, more often than not, I would cause self harm. This song took me back in many ways. The old white scars seemed to ache at the memory. I could almost hear the ghosts of screams and arguments that I have not heard in nearly a decade. But- This cover made me finally think back on how I completely took this song all out of context. I lived between those lines long ago and survived. And if I can continue on, you can too. Whoever is reading this out there, it really is never too late.

As silly as it sounds, song's like this helped me through the hardest part of my teenage years, I struggled so a lot with depression and self harm. Music like this somehow helped me keep myself safe and alive, so hearing it again and so well done has honestly brought me to tears. It helps remind me of all that I've gone through and that it does get better. So thank you, for helping to remind me of all that.

Please never give up! I was on the road to suicide when I was younger but Hurricane Katrina saved me! It took me away from the horror of the pain I was in that my old town treated me in such disgusting manner I was ready to give it all up. Cassy I just wanted to say that I've been there myself. It's a shitty situation that nobody should ever be in but I promise you it will get better, just as it did for me. One day you'll find that one person who will make you feel so happy for being alive. Just got reminded of this song as I was going through Jonathan's covers. I know this comment will be buried, but seriously, the lyrics are true. I remember listening to this when I was 14-15, wanting to end my life every day for a year. I had gone through extreme bullying for many years, and just couldn't see any way forward. Skip to seven years later, I've just graduated from uni with a full time job in the industry, and role, I wanted. It's not too late. It's never too late.
