My experience as a magician and with my attempt at beating similar scams (but with cards) is that YES, you can find the correct card or disc sometimes (and your chances are better if you randomly guess). However, it is indeed a scam. you can expect "bystanders" to box you out of the game the moment you lose a hand, you can expect someone to shout "cops" as the con man is making change for you or at the most inopportune moment, you can expect to be followed around the block and winnings to be taken, etc. I'm interested in the discs as a more versatile addition to my professional repertoire, rather than my cards. I had a really scary night in NYC after beating a con-man out of his own game with these.
