The AFC South has to have, collectively, the youngest starting quarterback group in the NFL. Trevor Lawrence, CJ Stroud, and the two other ones as the topic of conversation today: Anthony Richardson and Will Levis. Two guys who are set to take the next step up in 2024. Today, I’m here to give you my opinion and three reasons why Anthony Richardson will have a better career than Will Levis.

He’s better in almost every way. Plus, AR is a humble human being with a great work ethic. We got the right QB1 for sure!

I live in Nashville. I bet you will levis will be much better the Anthony Richardson. There's nothing about AR that says he will be good. I think you're wide receivers are average. What about Anthony Richardson say he Will be good. He hurt his throwing up. I don't see it. I don't get what you see with him. They're going to treat him like cam and he's not can. Hurt in all five games he played. C'mon man I question his ability to play quarterback. Not all that running around

Spot on w that work ethic. It’s AR the person who will make AR the player the better QB.

@@AtlantaJonny look im not saying he doesn't have potential but do I trust the colts no I don't. If they're going to treat him like a runningback i don't see it. Cj and will seem like the better quarterback. Richardson seems more like cam newton. I just don't trust the colts to not get him hurt.

Richardson puts the fear into defensive coordinators. I doubt there's any fear when they're facing Levis.

If the O line and JT can go to work a lot of pressure is taken off of theQB. This is the also best WR group that the Colts have had in like a decade. The AFC is tough but the Colts are poised to compete!

Ya AR's pocket awareness is something I noticed quickly in his preseason games, and it seemed to get even better in the regular season games. He seems to feel where pressure is coming from and avoid it easily. That is an incredibly valuable skill to have for a QB. I would dare to say his ability to sense pressure and move away from it might be the best I have ever seen in a QB, but I admit we only have a very small sample size to evaluate so far. Although one of those "samples" was against Aaron Donald. AR made Donald almost seem like a non-factor. Donald had our O line beat often, yet AR managed to stay away from him very well. Maybe that is why Donald decided to retire! Donald thought "oh crap, this guy makes me look just average, I better retire now before he actually gets good at the NFL game and makes me look like I suck" !!! Ok just kidding about that part... Or am I? 🤣
@thecoltscast

AR is horrible in the pocket. If anything he has pocket avoidance. He can’t read defenses either. What tape are you watching ??? Do you even listen to the the pros who talk about AR’s lack of ability to stay in the pocket ? Does he have an accessional throw under pressure - yes. But the stuff he has shown thus far is not real great. Levis is so much more polished and capable of standing in the pocket knowing he is going to get killed and those a very accurate pass under that pressure.
@carykneller1159
@carykneller1159 Ай бұрын
@@cliffyates4493 L O L . Obviously you are seeing something very different from what I am seeing when I watch him play. Pretty funny that you say AR avoiding sacks is a bad thing compared to Levis standing there getting killed. Also funny that you say Levis is very accurate like he had an amazing completion percentage compared to AR. Go ahead and google both of their completion percentages for last year, tell me what you find. Who are these pros talking about how much AR sucks? Give me some links or names to look up, this should be fun. The really great part is, we will get to see how they both do next season and compare!

@@carykneller1159 OK that’s certainly fair. I will later today for sure. Just to say though on the topic of completion percentage. There is a difference between accuracy and completion percentage - yes ? That’s what I’m saying. If you look at the receivers you have compared to those of the Titans everyone would say Colts by far had the better receivers. So if the QB hits the receiver in the hands and the receiver drops the football this dropped pass will show up as a negative in that QB’s completion percentage. I did not say anything about comparing completion percentage did l ? So who would you cut from your team ? The QB or the receiver who is dropping all the balls? You know the answer I hope. And as far as Levis standing in the pocket and delivering a dime as he is getting hit IS what you want in a QB. AR running out of a pocket when he did not have to, he did much more then Levis. Simms talks about this on his show that what surprised him the most about Levis is that Levis in his last year of college would bail out of the pocket to much. But in the NFL he stands in the pocket and hits recovers as good as anyone in the NFL. And PFF said Levis had the best accuracy throwing into the tightest windows when getting hit. I will link them to you later and some others ones as well. Look - I hope they both a great QB’s. AR has not had the games yet to fully show what he can do. What games he has played in cannot compare to the games Levis has played it thus far. We will see if Levis with more weapons and protection steps up his game. Both of them get hurt to much. So let’s hope they play safe with their bodies and make it through the year. Both are really fun to watch for sure !

@@cliffyates4493 Nah I doubt many people would say the Colts had better receivers last year by far compared to the Titans. I'm pretty sure most NFL analysts think Hopkins is better than Pittman. A lot of people seem to not even consider Pittman a true number 1 receiver. But yeah I do understand there is a difference between throwing accuracy and completion percentage, I just don't think the Titans receivers had a significantly bigger drop rate than the Colts receivers. Nor do I think that Levis looked more accurate throwing than AR did. And in the end, the completion percentage is really the only thing that matters anyways. Well, that and yards per catch. Either the balls the QB is throwing are caught, or they are not. If the QB has a receiver that can catch anything that gets near him, then that is all the accuracy needed. I assume you are talking about Chris Simms, not Phil Simms? Ya I saw one of Chris Simms things where he was ranking all of the QBs for his top 40 list, and he had AR at like number 36. That would basically mean Simms doesn't even think AR should be a starter, since there's only 32 teams. So yeah I will give you that one pro that obviously thinks AR sucks, even though he also said AR has a lot of potential. Sometimes analysts are way off the mark, and I think this is one of those times for Simms. As far as leaving the pocket, yeah that is one of the reasons the Colts got AR, for his ability to create opportunities. When you have a QB capable of avoiding pressure easily, they don't have to risk sitting in the pocket until they get killed. The can give themselves more time for receivers to get open with their own feet, rather than praying for the O line to buy them enough time. That's just part of QBs like AR's game, and that is what a lot of old school analysts never seem to be able to wrap their heads around for some reason. But ya, hopefully they both stay healthy for the whole season, and then we can get a much better comparison. From what I already saw from AR, I think he is already one of the best QBs in the NFL, with the potential to become the greatest. If he can stay healthy... Hopefully he does stay healthy so I can either say "wow I was completely wrong and I totally suck at evaluating QB play", or I can say "I was totally right and I can't figure out how the rest of the world was so blind and couldn't see it". Time will tell !

Callahan has more QB coaching experience then your coach. And he coach greater QB’s then your coach. Look up the QB’s he has coached. Also, the OLine will be much improved. Levis will have a viable pocket to work behind going forward. And AR pocket presence is very poor. The reason he was not getting sacked as much on average was because he bailed out of a clean pocket so many times. The dude was running away. Levis hardly ever did this. And Levis arm is stronger and better then AR’s.
@thecoltscast
@thecoltscast Ай бұрын
I disagree with a lot of what you said. Callahan worked with guys like Manning and Stafford but did not elevate them. They were already stud QBs. Your Oline is a question mark until further notice. Should be better but no results yet. Richardson has a top 5 arm in the NFL. Levis might be close but not stronger

@@thecoltscast I hear guys on ESPN talk about this. Based on difference of opinion, it’s perhaps a wash. We usual go with the opinion where I bias learns. It’s going to be so awesome to watch these guys play to see how it all goes. It’s why we love sports !

@@thecoltscast I disagree. Go and watch what manning has said about Callahan’s influence on him. Also Burrow said great things about his influence on him. And when you hear ESPN and Football network speak about Callahan they always talk about what a great QB coach he is. Of course don’t know the guy but I hear what others who do and have worked with him have said. But am a fan with a bias filter toward my team, players and coaches. Thanks for you feedback !

@@thecoltscast I’m going to go with ( of course ) with my take on his arm based on what others have observed. But show me we’re anyone has said Levis’s arm was not top five. I have only heard that his arm is as strong as anyone in the NFL. I’ll see if I can find the links too. But you know to me they both look as good as anyone that I’ve seen throw. Both can throw bullets and throw it a mile. Levis lead the NFL in long throws. I’ll see if I can find the chart for you. And you take on couching QBs, All those guys talk about the great coaching from Callahan that they say made them a better QB. And the league talks about Callahan as being one of the better QB coaches. I just go by what I read or hear. And given my bias I will gravitate toward positive inputs about my team for sure. But anyway thanks for the feedback
