Mike is definitely on point about Security+, it is a bit too technical and a bit difficult for an entry level student. I have taken many of CompTIA’s certs and Security+ is the most challenging in my opinion.

After watching 400+ videos of Mike Meyers teaching me computers, putting in so much extra effort so it makes sense, going the extra mile, creating visual examples out of paper and tubes and straws for those visual, spatial learners out there, it feels like you're family. I had someone tell me it's only possible for people who have been into computers since they were kids. But I'm nearly ready to pass a+ once I am sure I know the command line and terminal well enough, and go through enough practice exams for 1002. I think I could pass 1001 now, I won't be getting tripped by any port questions. So with that I should be ok at a helpdesk for awhile and I learned as an adult

I would like to know,how difficult would it be to re- enter IT as either a NOC or SOC, if your background includes mainly working on I.B.M.midrange and mainframes, such as the AS400 and the 3090 OS/MVS models.I also studied three different coding languages,at a coding school in New Jersey. My work experience has been working in the lower end of the Fortune 500. The models I worked on were the largest available outside the Government Cray supercomputers. Any information you could give would be appreciated .

Personally I find the A+ material and test questions much more annoying than the sec+.

Myers all over the place just like his books lol Exam cram and professor messer are what you need for a plus, net plus and security plus. Myers is not the way to go. Great guy, smart as hell, but not good for a beginner. His books are way too long, way too much fluff. Don't make the mistake i made. Your going to waste a lot of time. Myers is best for intermediate learners
