You girls reminded me to order the robin wood book. I'm not a huge fan of the vintage art..but its such a good reader. I've learned to love it

It really was the deck that taught me tarot even though the artwork is not at all my style…a classic for a reason! 😊

Always good to catch you three. Some great learner advice here. I love hearing folks interpretations of the cards still for the exact reason discussed. They’re often far more varied reader to reader than I think learners are led to believe sometimes. Which perhaps helps relaxing into the play of interpretation rather than feeling like rigid memorisation is the way to go.

Absolutely! And also there’s nothing like seeing how multiple cards can get put together into an overall picture or story in an actual reading…that’s the part of reading that’s kind of impossible to learn from a book. 💖💖💖

Oooh, these are so good!! I've been reading cards a while, but coming back to some of your suggestions would be helpful! Thank you!! It's almost like a care package for new tarot readers!

“A care package for new tarot readers” I love hearing that! That’s totally what we were hoping to accomplish with this video so I’m glad that we succeeded! 💖

Great to listen to you all! I belive the Anna K also would be a great beginner deck:)

@@joannem9884 totally agree!! I love the Anna K…I think it’s one of the best decks for understanding the aces and courts in particular!

I learned on the centennial one and light seers , the Llewellyn one helped me learn a bit more on tarot , terra volatile has been a really good one to read with to for me , the guidebook has helped me to dig a bit deeper into my tarot journey, I'm hoping to do a deep dive of wisdom of Pooh tarot and the gentle tarot these next few months

The Centennial and Light Seers sounds like such a good beginner combo! 💖💖💖

it took me quite a few decks as well , I still struggle with the court cards but I bought a book I'm slowly reading so hopeful that helps me

Court cards are always such a struggle…i love decks that rename the court cards to something a little more intuitive, like the Tarot of Oneness or the Naked Heart just as a few examples.

So sorry I missed you today, especially because I'm in the process of writing a review for a local metaphysical store about decks to get as a beginner if you don't want or like Pixie's art. I'm taking a look at two U.S. Games decks: Old Style Tarot and Star Maiden Tarot. Thank you for sharing your ideas and thoughts!!

I really need to take a closer look at the Old Style Tarot, it seems very much like my aesthetic…

I learned with Robert Wang's Golden Dawn deck (a Pip deck with ugly Pips) and I had no book but the LWB. After a while I got the Thoth and the motherpeace and the RWS, and books for them, and I must say the motherpeace really clicked for me, and the Thoth was great too ( I had a book by Akron and Banzhaf for the Thoth). The RWS didn't at first, it took me a while despite reading several books, but some cards never made sense to me, why they should mean what was in the books. I saw them differently, but wasn't confident enough to just go with "my "meanings. So I read with my other decks and Margarete Petersen mostly, until decades later, and suddenly I could read RWS too (maybe because my confidence to trust my own numerological and elemental meanings was better by then).

Yeah learning to be able to apply your own meanings is such a challenge sometimes! Even with some of the books I recommend, I don’t always entirely agree with all the takes on the cards (like the seven of swords description in Kitchen Table Tarot is way too narrow imo, just as an example)…maybe the truest best advice for beginners is to take everything from books as suggestions or jumping off points for developing your own meanings.

Also highly recommend T. Susan Chang's 36 Secrets and actually doing the decan walk really brings the minors to life. Great topic ladies, always love seeing you all 😊

Not y’all making me wanna buy some of these decks 😝 also, I totally started w wild unknown as a beginner deck (because I liked the art) and it was a horrible beginner deck! The art is so removed from RWS educational materials, and the WU guidebook itself is (imo) so useless lol
@SunsetBoughTarot7 ай бұрын
🤣 like I was feeling actual physical pain seeing a non-tarot-reader buying someone the WU as their first deck. Just full “nooooooo” 😭
